love: And we thought they didn't do Anything! - 08/26/22 01:20 PM
Maybe  those are monumental chores to our pets 😃.
I had forgotten about just how much love a pet can give us. I had been "dogless" for 7 years before we rescued Baby a month ago. I like going to bed knowing Baby is going to listen for anything threatening our domain. I like waking up and seeing her wagging tail because she is excited to see me up and about. She continues to wag that tail and looking at us with the excitement of "what are we going to do next Master?"
Yes, our pets have simple lives... mostly simply loving us.

love: Loving Day, Sunday June 12th 2022 - 06/10/22 08:16 AM
Loving day is celebrated every June 12th in the United States. Loving Day is the BIGGEST multiracial celebration in the United States.
Despite the title, Loving Day, it’s NOT based upon what most people would think of. It did not come about from a kumbaya moment around a campfire.

Loving Day came about from a law suit between Mildred Loving vs. The State of Virginia. In 1967 The United States Supreme Court struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in States banning interracial marriage.
All of that being said… I like the idea of celebrating most peoples misconception of what Loving Day really is.

love: Let Me Be The First - 01/31/22 05:54 PM

It stinks to be the only one who doesn't get a Valentine on Valentines Day so I am making sure that everyone who reads this knows that YOU are my Valentine!
I want to encourage you all to give a Valentine to anyone you suspect may not get one this year... especially someone who lost a loved one in the last year. You KNOW you are loved so why not spead it around?

love: If I Could Catch the Moon - 12/27/21 06:32 PM
I'm going to catch the moon for you and for me.
I snapped this picture because I liked the way this bare tree appeared to be reaching to embrace the moon.
If I could catch the moon for you, I'd hold it...  just a moment... just long enough for you to see... all the love that exists because of You and Me.
It's as if the sticks and branches are generations of children, to be born of Me and Thee.
I'd exchange that moment of holding the moon for a lifetime of embracing You.

love: What am I MOST Thankful for... - 11/25/21 07:24 AM
LOVE
I think it's just incredible that anyone loves me... or you... or anyone other than themselves for that matter. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE?
Even if you are not "churched" what was the very first thing you were taught about God as a child?                         God is love.
Well now we've grown up and we have to rationalize that there must be more to it. We must have to earn it. We must have to clean up our act to be lovable.
WRONG
We can love because we were created by God who is love and he created … (18 comments)

love: The Story of T. Lee - 05/19/21 06:41 AM
Theodore Lee Roberts

Just like the rest of us T. Lee Roberts had his dreams and his passions as a child. Some of us boys wanted to be Firemen, Policemen, or another form of Super Hero. Many young girls dreamed of being Princesses, Queens, Doctors, Nurses, and other virtuous Super Hero’s.

Theodore Lee Roberts was born to Katherine and Harold Roberts. Katherine was of Hungarian descent and gypsy blood ran through her veins.  She loved many of the gypsy ways. Travel, adventure, challenging the unknown. She loved telling people their fortune and her favorite form of fortunate telling was reading tea leaves… thus, … (22 comments)

love: Santiago and Candice - 03/02/19 04:20 PM
A Love Story
Santiago Fernandez lived in Las Tunas Cuba all his life, until he braved the waters of the Gulf of Mexico in a flotilla to Florida at the age of 34.
Santiago was a renowned thinker in Las Tunas and indeed all of Cuba. His goal was to better the lives of his family, his community, Cuba, and just maybe the whole world.
At the age of 13 Santiago had already come up with his first innovation, the topatoe plant. He combined Cuba’s top two agriculture products and made smokable potatoes.
At the age of 20 Santiago invented the underwater … (21 comments)

love: Love Locks - 09/06/18 05:39 PM
This 100 year old fad is a new one on me. Love Locks!
This year padlocks started to show up on this walking bridge between the East and West halves of Roosevelt Park in South East Minot. My first reaction was... what the heck!
I knew there had to be something to it and as more and more locks appeared I noticed names written on the locks. With that little bit of knowledge I typed into my browser "Padlock Love" and walla. I'm now wikki informed that it's a 100 year old fad started in Serbia.
The short story is this: A local schoolmistress named Nada, … (28 comments)

love: SASHA Almost Turned Me Into "RealMan - Realtor/Assassin" - 02/11/18 10:35 AM

Do you love your job enough to KILL for it? If you are a Realtor dedicated to customer service you just may be asked to do so like I was several years ago.
One of my toughest listings was for a woman I'll call Sasha. Her husband had run off with her best friend 20 some years ago and left Sasha with the house and a acre or two of yard.
Sasha was absolutely clueless when it came to home maintenance (aside from the fact she kept it spotless). She was so clueless that she didn't use the basement because it smelled... I … (7 comments)

love: Love, Gus and Jane - 02/10/18 02:08 PM

Gus and Jane, a Love Story I will never forget.
I don't remember exactly how I met Gus and Jane but I'm guessing it was probably on desk duty about 15 years ago but I assure you I will never forget them.
Gus was a retired Sargent from the Minot Air Force Base, long retired! They lived in a very modest home that they both had tremendous pride in. The home had a lot of memories inside so it was a tight walk through but it was also spotlessly clean. Gus and Jane showed me each room explaining how they used it and what … (22 comments)

love: Some Times You Have To Look For Beauty - 04/10/11 03:45 PM

Some Times You Have To Look For Beauty...
Some Times You Don't!

I've mentioned the beautiful quilts that have been auctioned off for charity the first week of April in Minot over the last 31 years but I want to point out that the beauty doesn't start or end there.

It starts when an artist is inspired by the beauty that they see which God has created. The beauty carries on from that vision and from the love with-in the artist who wishes to share both, the beauty and the love, with others.
Maybe that vision is something as simple as remembering … (17 comments)
