minot realtor: I Was Greeted By A Beauty First Thing This Morning - 06/20/16 11:23 PM

Aside from the obvious, waking up beside my stunningly beautiful Bride, I'm talking about the first flower in our yard for 2016 (aside from dandelions).
I did not plant any flowers at all this year but I have planted poppies in the past and they are very good at volunteering to
come back again and again. This one had perfect timing. Having raised poppies for many years I can tell you whether it is the variety with a full head like this one or the kind with 4 to 6 petals they do not withstand wind very well. I have seen flowers like … (16 comments)

minot realtor: A Walk Thru The Zoo - 06/17/16 11:40 AM

Yesterday we enjoyed a walk through the Roosevelt Park Zoo thanks to our local cable company. My daughter (16 years old) works at the zoo so even she wasn't with us... she was with us.

 Otters playing under water.
In case you can't read the plaque the bottom line really surprised me: "Great horned owls are the only animal that feeds on skunks on a regular basis.
The Roosevelt park Zoo is a great little zoo and it's easy to spend half a day there taking in all the exhibits, we, the Timm family, highly recommend it.

minot realtor: DO YOUR DUTY! - 06/14/16 04:59 AM

Thousands of Americas young men and women died insuring YOUR right to Vote! If they can go fight on forien soil for your right to vote the least you can do is excersize your right. It's YOUR Duty.
It's primary day in many States (if not all) and voting in the primaries is just as important as voting in the general elections. Get out there and vote. I did!

minot realtor: Farming with Family - 04/29/16 11:24 PM

For some Realtors it's all about the money, for me it's all about the family... Your family and Mine.
As the Broker/Owner of National Marketing Realtors in Minot ND I love how my occupation allows me to work with my family for the well being of your family. My kids have been involved with my work ever since they were old enough to help with cleaning, mowing lawns, help with a radio commercial, and help dad with farming.
In Real Estate "Farming" is marketing and most often referring to mailing information, such as a news letter, to a specific area. Today Tina and Timmothy helped … (10 comments)

minot realtor: Nothing Is More Local Than Real Estate - 04/24/16 11:19 AM

Can someone who pronounces Minot (My-Not) as "Minnow" really be an expert on the town?
There is a great letter to the editor in today's paper about "Buy Local". While this letter is in regards to a local book store vs Amazon the point carries over fairly well to Real Estate. NOTHING is more local than Real Estate! It seems amazing that people look to web based entities located thousands of miles away for local information. Why on earth would anyone take advice on a local market when the person offering the advice had never heard of the town before (most can't … (11 comments)

minot realtor: My 1st Saturday Print Ad, any Suggestions? - 04/20/16 06:14 AM

Every Saturday our News Paper does a "show case" of homes right before the open house listings. I have never participated because of the cost and because everyone says "no one reads the paper anymore". Well I'm starting to get quite a bit of inventory so I'm going to advertise by what ever means is possible. Please give me your opinion of the ad that will appear Saturday.

minot realtor: Susan Hale Wrote A GREAT Little Piece, Check It Out! - 04/12/16 04:39 AM

I was so impressed with this short post by Susan Hale  that I wanted to re-blog it but the "re-blog" button was not there. The blog title is Why Do You Have My House Listed On Zillow? I called Susan and she said she checked the box and I should go ahead. Still no re-blog button???? Could it be because she is a "Rainer"? I'm not clear on that. Anyhow I decided to just give you this
Link
to her post.

minot realtor: Now That Easter Is Over… What’s Next? - 03/31/16 10:29 AM

To the non-Christian or casual Christian the next big Christian Holiday is Christmas … but is it really?
No, there are many days that Christians celebrate prior to Christmas. These days have not been declared as holidays by the government or Hallmark but they are important to the church.
The next big day on the Christian calendar is Ascension Day.

Ascension Day is also known as the Feast of Ascension and is one of the most important Christian festivals celebrated all over the world. Ascension day marks the last appearance of Jesus to his followers after His resurrection at Easter.
Ascension Day falls on the Thursday, … (18 comments)

minot realtor: 17 South Main Street Minot ND, by Bob Timm - 03/20/16 09:32 AM

Do You Have Any Historical Knowledge Of This Building?
I was walking around downtown Minot last week looking to snap a picture of an old or interesting building. This building located at 17 South Main Street stood out to me because of the interesting brickwork and the date, which I believe is 1883.

It’s a shame that much of the front of the building is “modernized” but I find the remaining brickwork amazing and intriguing. I also wish I could take the signs down and see what’s underneath. I’m sure the original name of the building is still there.

To me the building looks … (15 comments)

minot realtor: Humidify or Dehumidify, That Is The Question. - 03/19/16 01:08 AM

With the change of seasons it's important to keep tabs on the humidity inside your home, especially if you are in a home that once flooded.
The last thing you want to do is to promote mold in your home.
Interior living in the North land is unbearable without a humidifier. Shortly after that furnace kicks in the humidity in most Northern homes would drop to about 20% if you did nothing to raise it. At 20% you will have a great deal of static electricity, dry skin problems, and even shrinkage of certain building materials that may lead to cracks … (26 comments)

minot realtor: Budget Music & Video in Minot ND - 03/13/16 11:17 PM

Budget Music & Video in Minot ND
If you are like me you still like to spin vinyl. I've been rebuilding my collection after losing more than 1,000 LP's in the flood that destroyed much of my possessions in 2011. Budget Music & Video is Minot's top outlet for vinyl.
Located Downtown Minot at 11 S. Main Street in Minot ND
This isle is mostly vinyl, new and used. I think it's great that there are still producers of vinyl records. I still love looking a "Album Art".
Look at all those posters and yes I went through every one of them. I was surprised at … (8 comments)

minot realtor: The Meek Shall Inherit the Real Estate Earth - 03/11/16 11:27 PM

The Meek Shall Inherit the Real Estate Earth

Inspired by Patricia Feager post Is Technology The New Dragon?
I would like to say that I believe that meekness, in form of the art of LISTENING will defeat the dragon of technology.
While many other agents in town have been complaining of slow sales I've never been busier and I attribute it in large to the fact that when I am working with a client they have my undivided attention.
Sure I'd love to say that clients flock to me because of my website, my blogging, or because I'm fantastically handsome (LOL) but the truth is they leave the field of "prospects" and become clients … (9 comments)

minot realtor: Local TV Miss Reports Housing Situation, Causes Panic - 02/26/16 05:59 AM

Local TV Miss Reports Housing Situation, Causes Panic
KMOT TV in Minot ND did a report on Minot Housing and threw out erroneous numbers that have sent many into a panic. Although they were given accurate information they came up with another set of numbers that make it appear that Minot's housing market is in the tank. Nothing could be further from the truth. The accurate numbers show that Minot's housing market is steady and very healthy. To date KMOT TV refuses to withdraw the story or reveal where they obtained the inaccurate numbers. Stay tuned as our local association of Realtors … (11 comments)

minot realtor: Sellers, Don't Let An Agent "BUY" Your Listing - 02/18/16 09:37 AM

Sellers, Don't Let An Agent "BUY" Your Listing
Buying a listing. This is a very common practice in Minot ND, especially with newer Real Estate agents. Very often the Seller of a home asks "What can you get for my home?" and all to often that is the only thing they care about. Most rookies, and a few seasoned agents will give you an inflated number hoping you will list with them and then after a reasonable amount of time they come back, apologise, and tell you that you need to drop your price. This is what's called "Buying a listing".
Minot … (8 comments)

minot realtor: Make A List When You Go Look At Homes by National Marketing Realtors 701-852-1197 - 02/17/16 05:38 AM

Make A List When You Go Look At Homes

Even with as few as three property viewings it's impossible to keep everything straight in your head. I know you think you are different than the couple thousand of other couples I've worked with but believe me, you are not. Home hunting is stressful. Experts say it's one of the three most stressful events in your life. Counting on your spouse to remember what you might forget only adds more stress to your mission and to your marriage. This stress can easily be eliminated with two precautions: 1) bring a real (not virtual) … (7 comments)
