minot: What's Happening in Minot Wednesday 5/30/2018 - 05/29/18 12:48 PM

First I will start out with an apology that I did not post yesterday. It was a day with family, some who I have not seen in years. It was really a great holiday weekend with my daughter graduating from high school and relatives here to celebrate her accomplishment.
The bulk of the information I'm sharing with you today comes from the Visit Minot website and a little bit from The Minot Daily News.
Safe Sitter Classes  I highly recommend these classes for any boy or girl that may baby sit their siblings or any other children in the near future.

minot: What's Happening on Memorial Day in Minot ND 2018 - 05/27/18 08:52 AM

There is to much for me to cover here BUT why not start out with the Boy Scout Breakfast.
Thank God for all the events honoring the people of the past. Memorial day is NOT just for lost military loved ones, it's for honoring all people who have been important in our lives. With my siblings coming to town for my daughters graduation we will be doing a lot of reminiscing about mom and dad as well as our grandparents. I will also be remembering lost friends, teachers, preachers and more. I hope you will be too.
Have a wonderful and blessed Memorial Day.

minot: Condo/Townhouse Activity in Minot, Week ending 05/27/2018 - 05/26/18 03:54 PM

05/27/2018
Available Condos & Town homes in Minot ND.
There are currently 34 Condominiums and 33 Townhomes for a total of 67 units available in Minot ND. They range in price from $79,900 to $359,900. The average listing price is $203,969. The average days on market is 89.

Frankly I was surprised by this report that there were no sales in this category last week. However, having dealt with a certain property appraiser last week I wouldn't doubt he single handily has killed several sales with his crappy attitude towards townhomes and VA buyers in particular.

minot: What's Happening Sunday May 27th in Minot ND - 05/26/18 01:47 PM

Just like any other Sunday I would encourage you to go to your favorite house of worship. A family built on faith will have a much better chance of surviving lifes storms together of they share their faith together.
Of course the BIG event in the Timm family household on Sunday will be the graduation of Tina Natalie Timm, my daughter. Minot High School will hold its graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 27, at 2:00 p.m., at the Minot State University Dome. Friends and relatives unable to attend the ceremony can also view the broadcast live by logging on to the Minot Public … (9 comments)

minot: Minot, Saturday 05/26/2018, Keep Up If You Can - 05/25/18 06:29 AM

The list in the paper today is short but for me VERY sweet!
I love looking at old tractors! I do not have an agricultural background but when I look at vintage machines like this I marvel at the ingenuity used in their time to make these beasts operate.
Car Audio Competition (bring ear protection). Come see the systems that can make your ears bleed. A couple of lifetimes ago I worked for Stero One in Fargo ND. It was the most high-end stereo store in the State and we sold systems like this all the time. We also had an annual contest … (8 comments)

minot: What's Happening In Minot Friday 05/25/2018 - 05/24/18 11:22 AM

It's kind of a short list for Friday but keep in mind that it's the 25th of the month... just 7 months till Christmas... so if you can not find anything else to do go Christmas shopping!
In addition to the events to the left let me tell you about a few more.
Magic City International Dragway: Memorial Classic 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM A whole day of drag racing fun! BRING EAR PROTECTION!!! I live a half mile from the strip and I can tell you it's going to be loud!

minot: What's Happening In Minot Thursday 05/24/2018 - 05/23/18 07:23 AM

As you can see the list is a long one again and some of it is self explanatory. There is something for every age group. Of course the two events that include Mexican food have my interest:
Taco John's Crunch For A Cause is a benefit this week for one of Minot's well known dance studios. I know having a child in dance class can be very expensive. I assume this is to help out with costumes and travel expenses. BTW if you hadn't heard me say this before it's my humble opinion that Taco John's serves the best food on Earth.

minot: Things to do in Minot this Wednesday , May 23rd 2018 - 05/22/18 06:45 AM

I noticed a couple of things in the paper today that were not on the schedule to the right so let me tell you about those 1st.
A new program being introduced by the Minot Park District in conjunction with their 2018 theme of "Unplug & Play" is called Park Pals. For just $20.00 your child will get a day pass to the Roosevelt Park Pool, the Roosevelt Park Zoo, a round of golf at the Jack Hoeven  Wee Links golf course, as well as a pass to ice skate at the Maysa Arena. In addition to all this they also receive a … (18 comments)

minot: Your 3rd Rail Might Power My Gravy Train! - 05/21/18 06:18 PM

Over the years I've read a plethora of posts and comments advising never to touch the 3rd rail when posting a blog or even in visiting with potential clients. That 3rd rail could be a subject, a person, a thing, or a philosophy. Most recently in my reading it was a question asked what to do when on a listing interview the seller asked the agent if they believe in God. If I may digress for a moment that could mean just about anything from "what/who is your god" to "You got a big honking deadly spider on your back dude" or … (36 comments)

minot: What's Happening In Minot North Dakota Tuesday 05/22/2018 - 05/21/18 08:41 AM

While I usually count on The Minot Daily for this information they let me down today but Visit Minot came to my rescue. They had many events listed but several were events/classes you pay for and I wish to stick to the free things to do in Minot.
Read To An Animal, 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Souris Valley Animal Shelter. This program is for kids Kindergarten to 6th grade. No sign up neccessary.
Ladies shoot pool free every Tuesday at The Spot from 6 PM to Closing. This is an adult only activity as this pool hall does serve adult beverages. … (10 comments)

minot: Here Is One That Didn't Get Away! - 05/20/18 12:43 PM

Neil Leier's catch on Friday has me thinking that maybe holding a fishing pole in my hands again might be pretty good.
Neil caught himself a 15 lb 13 oz walleye, the biggest ever caught in the State of North Dakota. The old record stood from all the way back to 1959.
I grew up (on weekends) in the lakes area of Minnesota on a great fishing lake, Rose Lake, near Vergas MN. If you didn't have your limit on fish in an hour on Rose Lake you evidently didn't have your line in the water. I couldn't adjust to North Dakota fishing … (20 comments)

minot: What's Happening in Minot on Sunday 05/20/2018 - 05/19/18 04:14 PM

Sunday May 20th is supposed to be a beautiful weather day in Minot ND so FIRST of all let me encourage you to get out and enjoy the day. You might start out (after church) by coming up and seeing my open house at Highlands at North Hill and then take in one or more of the events to the left.
Some of the vendors at the Dakota Square Mall Vendor Fair include:

You don't have to be a good golfer to enjoy a golf scramble. If you are not familiar with the concept it's that you are a part of a team and … (20 comments)

minot: Minot Real Estate Report , Week ending 05/19/2018 - 05/19/18 06:32 AM

05/019/2018
This week there were 8 homes sold (closed) in this very narrow category of stick built, single family homes located in the City limits of Minot (an improvement over last weeks 4). A look at the Red chart below shows there were 24 closings overall to include all properties in our MLS. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was just 80 compared to last weeks 103 days. Over all homes sold faster and for a lot less money per square foot this week.

The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes … (8 comments)

Nerf Battle #4 Yea! I get to shoot people and get away with it.(come on up Candice A. Donofrio and give me a hand). minot: What's Happening In Minot Friday 05/18/2018 - 05/17/18 12:27 PM

Taking these one at a time:
Who doesn't like a rummage sale? I'm in! I'll have to find out who the Trinity Lifesavers are because that sounds like a good interview for my radio show Minot Real Estate Today.
Endangered Species Day at the Roosevelt Park Zoo. That fits in perfectly with Fridays radio program because my guest is Becky DeWits, the zoo director. Please listen in.
I don't know anything about the May Vender Show at Dakota Square Mall. Maybe it's all about my friend Alan May vending something???
Gymagic Play Date is all about gymnastics and believe it or not I was a very good … (4 comments)

minot: What's Up in Minot on Thursday 05/17/2018 - 05/16/18 07:59 AM

Once again there is such a GREAT variety of things to do in Minot that you couldn't possibly do it all. They are all good things to do but if I could take in a few I'd...
#1) Head to Central Campus and see if any of the artwork is by my son (I'm sure it is).
#2) I'd like to check out the Souris Valley Woodworkers Meeting as I have always enjoyed wood working and did not know this group existed... I think I need to see if they will go on the air with me for Minot Real Estate Today.
#3) I'd like … (10 comments)

minot: What's Happening in Minot Wednesday May 16th? - 05/15/18 08:48 AM

It looks pretty sparse for tomorrow BUT the news paper forgot the biggest event of all, the birth of Robert Leland Timm! How dare they forget!
The TCCU has me scratching my head... a good cause, Relay for Life but to sell hot dogs for a cause to help people live healthier.. am I missing something here?
If you care about who is on the school board you will want to take in the candidate's forum. That's a thankless job I wouldn't wish on anyone.
Operation Warm Heart is a GREAT cause. I have to admit I had to look it up beacause I didn't … (10 comments)

minot: Around Town, Minot ND Monday & Tuesday 05/14 & 15/2018 - 05/14/18 11:38 AM

Sorry about the short notice as to what's happening today but if you didn't have any plans you should still be good to make today's events. There is some pretty good stuff happening today, I for one may be attending the Low Labor Gardening event.
The Relay for Life is a very important event but I don't care to be part of the planning and for those who don't know what "The Rock" is it's a Youth for Christ meeting place.
I know a lot of my friends at Active Rain would take part in the Pet Supply Donation Drive if they could.
Tomorrow, … (8 comments)

minot: Let's Tell All Our Friends! - 05/14/18 07:20 AM
Let's tell our friends, you call the ones on the left and I'll call to the right.

They just HAVE TO come see our new home at Highlands at North Hill!

The Chinook Twin Home is nearing completion and while it will be reasonably priced  I don't think these geese are going to have enough "bills" between them to afford it SO at this time this zero barrier home is available to you. Zero barrier means No steps and Wide hallways for easy accessibility (even for a goose). These two bedroom, two bath, triple garage homes, will be completed soon so if you are … (25 comments)
