real estate: Is it true that you can not have enough storage space?

If you are selling a home the more storage space the better, no doubt about it.
When you are “living” in a home that same storage space can be a two edged sword.
First let me add a caveat to my first statement: being able to show others that your home has a lot of storage space is a good thing… as long as the space(s) you show them is not packed full. Thus the two edged sword.

The spring like weather we are having is giving us some beautiful sunrises, 3 days in a row now (that I have witnessed). Of course here in North Dakota we are really only about half way through our winter and will most likely see snow another 3 months BUT we sure can enjoy this "January Thaw". I am so glad that I'm an early riser. I am almost always in the office by 7:00 AM. I'm also glad I have a window office or I would have missed this fantastic sunrise this morning. God is the most amazing artist, no man will every have the entire atmosphere as his canvas... and just look at what God does with it!
These pictures were taken with my 3 year old Samsung phone, no filtering, no editing of any kind.

After a couple of weeks of sub-zero temps anything above 20 degrees feels like a heat wave. This doesn't go just for locals, our Vicar (pastor in training) from Seattle WA mentioned from the pulpit that he couldn't believe how "warm" 20 degrees felt.
Tina urged her brother Timmothy to help build a snow fort (tunnel) out of the mountain of snow off our back deck. Prior to that Timmothy and I shoveled the bulk of the 43" of snow off of the deck. So far it's been a 2 day project. We hope to get it completed tomorrow.

We had 9 closings this week, a nice increase over the 4 last week in our very narrow category of stick-built single family homes within the City limits of Minot. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 130, a slight decrease from week.
The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below.

We received 43" of snow in a short amount of time and all the climatological experts have been telling us that it will have no bearing on spring run-off or flooding...
So why did FEMA send out thousands of brochures on flood insurance to local Realtors this week?
This is just SOME of the literature FEMA sent me this week. I/our Real Estate agency has never received information from FEMA in the past so I'm wondering if they are trying to tell us something.

Even if you have no interest in Ice Skating or Hockey it's worth your time to know about Minot's Maysa Arena.
You can click on the link above (the title) to learn all about the Maysa Arena but here is my short take on it. I do not skate but this is a fabulous facility that is also available for business meetings, concerts and more.
There are 3 sheets of ice available as pictured below with the 3rd sheet of ice just recently opened. This newest sheet has seating for about 3,500 fans and is super top notch.

There are only 3 homes located on Debra Court in NW Minot ND. The City assessor has these three homes valued from $220,000. to $259,000. These homes were built between 1974 and 1975. I found it interesting that the last time a home was sold on Debra court was in 2005. Evidently Debra Court is a great place to live and stay put!

The City assessor has the homes on Gold Court in Minot valued from $265,000 to $478,000 with an average value being $311,000. Winter or Summer it's a good idea for a home owner to walk around their property on a regular basis... even if the temperatures have been subzero. The old saying 30 below keeps the riff-raff out doesn't always hold true so it's a good idea to make sure everything is in it's place. Also a harsh winter storm can damage property just like a summer storm can. Here is my inspection of the day, our first day of above zero temps after a few subzero days.

Lake Street is located in NE Minot ND immediately North of McKinley Elementary School. There are 9 homes on Lake Street and the City Assessor has them valued from $94,000 to $172,000. These homes were built from the years of 1907 through 1956. Currently there are no homes listed for sale on Lake Street but if you are interested in the home on the corner of Lake Street and 6th Ave NW you can view it by clicking on THIS link.

There are 8 homes on Irma Court. The City Assessor has them valued from $206,000 to $295,000 with the average being $241,000. The homes on Irma Court were built between 1963 and 1975. Currently there are no active listings on Irma Court.
Irma Court is very near Ida Mae Court in Minot ND. It is my understanding that Ida Mae and Irma were sisters. The homes on Tammy Drive were built between the years of 1977 and 1980. Debbie Drive is my 2nd Feature of hard to find locations in Minot ND. I chose Debbie Drive because it's a family name, however my sister spells her name with a "Y" so this street is obiously named after Debbie Laity or Debbie Reynolds or maybe Debbie Gartner .
Debbie Drive is located in SW Minot between 14th and 15th Streets just off of 19th Avenue. There are 6 homes on Debbie Drive. The first home built on Debbie Drive was built in 1978 and the last was built in 1983. The City assessed values range from $224,000. to $260,000.
