Sure, every town has a library but I would pit our small town library against any in the nation.

Don't you wish this was your family photo? These two old Norwegian brothers struck oil in 52 and are making more millionaires in North Dakota today then anyone would ever believe.

When talking about BIG attractions there is nothing like our Dik Dik. Hang with the animals in Minot. Visit The Roosevelt Park Zoo and see our Dik Dik this weekend or any day the Zoo is open. Our Dik Dik is only 2' long (average) so it's not the worlds biggest Dik Dik but for many it's the only Dik Dik they may ever see! The Kirk's dik-dik (Madoqua kirkii) is a small antelope native to Eastern Africa and one of four species of dik-dik antelope. For my 6 year old son and I it's kind of like the First day of summer... again.
On Memorial Day my son, Timmothy (Yes I named my son Timmothy Timm) was entertaining himself by balancing on a 3-1/2' retaining wall. Yes he lost his balance, yes he broke his arm (elbow), yes his cast comes off TODAY, Hooray! I have to note that it was his right arm and he is also right handed.

One thing well worth blogging about within Minot North Dakota is an event called The Norsk Hostfest. The Scandinavion heritage of this area is emphesised through out the Minot community but this event in particular brings us visiters from all around the World. This event is much like the State Fair in the manor that it hosts many top billing stars over the 10 day period of celebration. Also it is held on the North Dakota State Fair Grounds. The Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot North Dakota is a must see if you are in Minot North Dakota or even just passing through. This park is relatively new and expanding but you will be amazed at all it contains. Located close to the heart of Minot it is like an oasis in the middle of the city. I consider myself a computer "Geek" in many areas but I readily admit I know absolutely nothing about Video Tours. I am such a neophyte that I've not even seen a video tour until about 10 minutes ago. For months now I've been telling you that there is more oil under North Dakota then in Saudi Arabia. I'm sure that the typical response out there is "yea right". Have you ever received that phone call? I've had many from various lead generators. The first time it happened I signed up... got nothing. Yesterday I received one from someone claiming to be from Google or Yahoo, can't remember which. I told the young lady I was way to busy. With the Oil Boom here and the Minot Air Force Base expansion I was not stretching the truth. I hardly have time to go to bed lately. I miss sleep and my family. No one that I know wants to be thought of as a cheapskate. Sometimes however actions speak louder then words. I know I'm going to offend some out there when I say this but the biggest way To say cheapskate in Real Estate is FSBO (pronounced FizzBo). We have a serious shortage of homes to sell in our market do to a booming economy fueled on by the largest oil find ever and a large expansion in our local Air Force Base. I watch Graig's list and other FSBO services on the net but when I call a new FSBO listing I seem to be one of about a dozen agents doing the same thing. When I first became eligible for AARP I was excited about receiving some of the discounts I had heard of. I guess I did not put two and two together, and now I'm a little embarrassed. It only makes sense that if you (I) am looking for discounts (handouts) from a company that specializes in them then the company attitude is going to be a Socialistic attitude in whole. I've been boasting what a great opportunity for those of us living in this little City of 32,000 that is expected to double in size with-in the next 5 years. Well I've been blind sided!
What happens when extreme population growth happens with very little notice?

My blog about my 1991 Mercury Sable Station Wagon (a definite gas hog at 20 mpg) caused more then a little stir a month or so ago. Actually it started with someone Else's blog asking about their super gas saving model that uses less gas due to it's super-size rubber band or something. My opinion got deleted from her post.

Knowing your market is not only a must for full time agents but if you are a part-time agent you need to keep up on the market for your sellers, your buyers, and for your own income. I have mentioned in previous entries that I live in a unique market at this time. Oil has been discovered under North Dakota in a quantity that may dwarf the supply in Saudi Arabia. The news gets better every day here as to the size of the formation and the number of years of projected prosperity it will bring.

The long and short of it is that the deal fell through because he did not meet the closing dead line and a couple other minor things the two agreed on.
