In August I wrote a post about Soo 735 getting a face lift. Soo 735 being an old steam engine that has been sitting as a display in the Roosevelt Park Zoo rusting away. Today Soo 735 is a new girl. They sandblasted every inch of her, got rid of the rust and gave her a new paint job. It appears to me they may have also repaired/replaced a few items as well. With no further ado here she is.

Soo 735 was long over due for a professional make-over. I couldn't tell you how many years the old gal was in service but according to the little monument next to her she has been resting on this very short piece of rail for 60 years. Soo 735 did have a nearly worthless make-over by some real amateurs a few years back that did nothing more than dump gallons and gallons of paint on her. She looked OK for a short time and it made her smell good ... for an even shorter time. They just painted right over the rust. As you (12 comments)
