timmothy nathaniel timm: ??? Is Lawrence Welk In The House ???
- 05/23/25 06:19 AM
The Lawrence Welk Show is an American televised musical variety show hosted by big band leader Lawrence Welk. The series aired locally in Los Angeles for four years, from 1951 to 1955, then nationally for another 16 years on ABC from 1955 to 1971, followed by 11 years in first-run syndication from 1971 to 1982. Lawrence was a North Dakota boy so here he is a bit of a hero. He labeled his show as Champagne music and the show always began with a lot of bubbles produced by some kind of bubble machine (the machine was never shown but it captivated little boys like me). I can't think of a

timmothy nathaniel timm: A Look Into Ones Soul.
- 05/05/25 06:45 AM
Isn't there a quote about imitation being flattery? I believe all art is a reflection of what the artist treasures. I really wanted to say that all art is a reflection of God's creation but with so much art created today being demonic I revised it to be a reflection of the artists own soul. Keep that in mind when you take your next trip to an art gallery. If you come to The Titus & Philemon Art Gallery you will perceive that most, if not all, of the art we display were created by happy people. Here are just three currently on

timmothy nathaniel timm: There Are A Lot Of Things We don't Need To See Twice
- 04/29/25 07:43 AM
A house burning or burnt is not something we want to see twice. I know I will be looking at the burned out shell of this home for a few days. The fire was just yesterday and only a few blocks from my home. A close friend lives directly across the street. Lucky for my friend that the wind was from the opposite direction. There are some things that deserve a double take. While this post is not directly related to Home Inspections it kind of is. Initial reports said the fire in the home above was started by an electrical problem. When I purchased my home the

timmothy nathaniel timm: Healthcare and Your Out of Town Buyer
- 04/28/25 06:35 AM
Some agents like to give new arrivals to town a list of contacts, I used to be such an agent. I am curious as to if any agents do this anymore. I am equally curious as to if clients would want such a list with so much available to them through their phones and computers? My lists held a lot of information. If Joe in the cartoon above needed medical attention one of my lists would have had a lot of valuable information and suggestions/endorsements regarding health care in Minot ND. I would imagine fellow blogger Nina Hollander, Broker has such a list as she

timmothy nathaniel timm: Spring Brings Flowers and...
- 04/24/25 01:42 PM
This is another one of those strips where I think I was the inspiration behind it. If there is a fly in our house I will not sit down until it's dead. I have my fly swatters at the ready. I can't tell you why I have this obsession but the fact is I do have it. Flying insects are not a big issue this time of year as mother nature still has not made up her mind if it's winter, spring, or summer. Thus it is most likely to be below freezing in the morning and by 3:00 PM it's in the

timmothy nathaniel timm: Thorns In Heaven
- 04/22/25 11:54 AM
I am sure there are roses in Heaven but I doubt there are any thorns attached to them. It seems like most everything good on this Earth has it's thorns just like the rose does. How about home ownership? We often call our domain our little slice of Heaven. So what are the thorns? For many #1 is property taxes. A close second may be homeowners insurance and then of course there is maintenance and repair. Property taxes are what I personally consider the most pernicious. My home has been paid for in full for more then a decade yet if I skip on

timmothy nathaniel timm: Somethings Drive Us Buggy
- 04/21/25 12:03 PM
Every Spring thaw reveals the garbage that was beneath the beautiful white snow. It seems to me that every year the volume of garbage revealed gets to be greater and greater. Even as a young man I never understood the mentality (or lack thereof) of anyone thinking it's okay to just chuck their trash anywhere on the ground. I think my disgust started with my first job at the age of 15 when I worked for a Holiday Inn as a porter and when things were slow I would pick up around the hotel (mostly cigarette butts). The picture above was the aftermath

timmothy nathaniel timm: Looking for the Green
- 04/21/25 06:48 AM
This is an easy one to tie to Real Estate. Imagine Joe as a Real Estate Broker and Titus & Philemon are Real Estate sales agents. Imagine Joe saying to his agents "Would you like a listing, I've got a HOT one here?". There is probably not a single agent that would turn this one down. And then many/most agents will turn this one down. It's not "green" enough for them. I never turned a listing down... and I have had a few like the mobile home above. The funny thing is the old mobile homes usually sold with-in a week because people want/need a home and

timmothy nathaniel timm: Is A Staycation REALLY A Vacation?
- 04/18/25 12:31 PM
I, for one, CAN make a stay-cation work. I love having a free schedule at home so I can tinker with things (tinkering is my passion). I also think camping pretty much is a stay-cation being our camper is pretty much our 2nd home. This summer may prove to be more challenging then others as far as camping goes. I had booked a few dates at our favorite campsite for the summer BUT just this week it was announced that our site and a few others we visit are closed due to staffing issues. After posting this I will be looking for alternatives

timmothy nathaniel timm: Unnecessary Stress
- 04/16/25 12:58 PM
Titus's worry, I get it and I'm pretty sure I know why the author (my son Timmothy) wrote this. We have a physcopath living in our neighborhood and he has a pit bull that is always with him. Timmothy is an adult male of good stature but nobody is immune from a charging pit bull (which is why I always have my weapon and concealed carry license in my pocket). The physco I mentioned has been know to use his dog as a weapon. Whenever Timmothy walks our dog (Baby) I tell him to keep his eye out for Paul walking his

timmothy nathaniel timm: Ponder This!
- 04/16/25 10:59 AM
Now THAT is something to ponder 🙄. I actually pray everyday that God will help me to think better and to erase bad memories stored on my hard drive. I am not saying that I am full of regret, I am not. I take great comfort in scripture that states we are to forgive others endlessly as God forgives the repentant. Not only does He forgives us He FORGETS our transgressions. There are many more scriptures that say much the same... no wonder I love Him. For peace of mind we must forgive each other. I was reminded this in a very personal way

timmothy nathaniel timm: Repetition Can Be Good Or Annoying
- 04/15/25 12:59 PM
I am sure we have all had the same annoying conversation Titus & Philemon were having when we were kids, thankfully it doesn't happen often as adults. Repetition can be a good learning tool and it can also be a good tool for success: ie sell a house, repeat, sell another, repeat. ☺️. When working with clients you need to be sure they understand you but if you just keep repeating the same thing like Philemon above you may lose a client and get a sore nose as well. Remember the old Batman word graphics? Even repeating oneself when no one asks you to

timmothy nathaniel timm: Maybe It's NOT Allergies....
- 04/15/25 06:35 AM
...but then again it probably is. In the North Dakota circus known as Spring it can be 70 degrees on day and then the next in the 20's (like today). Frankly I need to take a breathing aid every day. Any cheap generic works fine for me. When I was young I had to have an allergy shot once a year but my symptoms keep lightening up and now one pill a day pretty much does it. If you are a new home owner and all of a sudden you NOW have allergies when you never had them before you may want to

timmothy nathaniel timm: A Truth In Limerick.
- 04/14/25 06:24 AM
The limerick above is not only a good example of poetry skill but there is truth in it as well. The author of Titus & Philemon loves language arts and on occasion treats us to a nugget of poetry. Like Philemon I also love my fruit but I don't believe I've overdone it to the point of near death. Perhaps, 50 years ago, I may have pushed the limits of alcohol on a Saturday afternoon but that is a story for another time. Trying to think quickly how I may relate this to Real Estate (keep in mind I write these posts immediately

timmothy nathaniel timm: In Conclusion.
- 04/10/25 01:18 PM
This is the longest comic strip series I think Timmothy has ever put together. It could be titled "the home invasion of the ants". The other four episcopes are: It's Not What It Looks Like That Trojan Grape Dealing With The Problem Running On Emotion Can Lead Us Into Trouble
We started out with the ingenious plan of an ant colony to invade Joe's home. Their motive was clear, the search for food. The counter measure by Joe and the guinea pigs was to rid the home of the ant invaders. Big hearted as Joe, Titus & Philemon are they didn't want to kill the invaders. I

timmothy nathaniel timm: They Walk Among Us... maybe
- 04/10/25 01:04 PM
Many of us dream romantically about space travel. Many thanks to Gene Roddenberry and other sci fi writers. However there is a great barrier, TIME! Light travels at 186,282 miles per second. If we could travel at the speed of light (we are nowhere near it) there would be 3 stars we could get to in 5 years. Oh BOY! 5 years in the total darkness of space and for what? If alien space people could travel to see us we would have to ask WHY? If they are advanced far enough to get here would they want to drop in on

timmothy nathaniel timm: Running On Emotion Can Lead Us Into Trouble
- 04/09/25 08:27 AM
The cartoon above is number four in a series about ants in a home invasion. The previous three strips are: It's Not What It Looks Like That Trojan Grape and Dealing With The Problem . I would guess that many of the incarcerated today are incarcerated due to acting upon their emotions at the moment. Now on to Real Estate. Buyers remorse can certainly apply to a Real Estate purchase. First time home owners can feel overwhelmed with the unforeseen expenses of owning property or even remorse over not purchasing a property they now see as a better fit. Either case can feel like

timmothy nathaniel timm: Dealing With The Problem
- 04/08/25 07:20 AM
This is the third strip in a series about unwanted invaders into the imaginary home of Joe and his guinea pigs Titus & Philemon. I have no idea what the next strip looks like as I, like you, only see it one day at a time. Day one was It's Not What It Looks Like and the second strip was That Trojon Grape. Red Ants by M. C. Escher (woodcut Feb 1963) My response to this strip may surprise you but the last frame reminds me of a Christmas tale/narrative about geese in a snowstorm flying into a farmers picture window. The farmer

timmothy nathaniel timm: It's Not What It Looks Like
- 04/07/25 06:55 AM
With my post title and the Trojan theme of Timmothy's cartoon I could take the post just about anywhere. I decided to post about real estate (property) "Specials". As far as I know all Real Estate professionals in every State need to disclose if Special Assessment Tax exist on a property or not. I can only speak in reference to Minot ND where I live however I am sure the information below applies in some effect to whatever municipality you live in as well. You may want to check to see if your municipality has a map like the one below. The following is

timmothy nathaniel timm: Gallery Moment 04/04/2025
- 04/04/25 12:49 PM
This is a very brief video of Timmothy in his art studio creating two pieces (comic strips) for The Northern Sentry Newspaper (the official newspaper for the Minot Air Force Base). Timmothy produces a comic strip every day for this blog as well as for The Northern Sentry. I don't know how he does it, not just drawing the strip but having a funny message every day.
