titus and philemon: Diverting the Truth
- 07/08/25 08:23 AM
Truthfully Joe only has himself to blame as he had to be the one who put Titus & Philemon outside in the first place (unless they make a doggie door for guinea pigs). At least Titus and Philemon didn't blame Joe back except that they pointed out that their cage was already dirty due to prior neglect. The blame game never ends. Adults (of any age) know the old saying that when you point, there three of your own fingers pointing back at you. Blame your spouse... you married them. Blame the government... did you vote last election? Quit blaming others and take responsibility.

titus and philemon: When The World Seems Upside Down
- 07/08/25 05:57 AM
So often the World seems to be upside down, like this last week in Texas. It amazes me that the fingers of blame came out over a freak of nature. This is the nanny state that thinks the government ought to wrap us all up in bubble wrap so no one ever gets hurt. It's the governments fault, it's the governors fault, it's a religious denominations fault... maybe it was the Realtor who sold the land to the camp 100 years ago! If only those pointing fingers would pick up a pen and write a check to help out those in need and shut up! There is no

titus and philemon: Just Like the Fireplace Loop for Christmas.
- 07/07/25 06:24 AM
Although we heard a lot of firecrackers within the campground we saw little to no fireworks in the sky during the 4th of July. I am/was thankful that the campground rules prohibit fireworks within it. Burning objects falling from the sky to the ground is not a good thing for tents, awnings, and screen houses. Thus, like Timmothy's cartoon above we also watched the fireworks on TV as opposed to being outside, fighting mosquitos and the urge to shut our eyes and go to sleep. Thank God our forefathers rebelled against tyranny. Thank God our forefathers gave us a minimalist government. How did we go

titus and philemon: Summer Fun & Games
- 07/02/25 11:37 AM
I can't say that I've played a lot of disc (Frisbee golf) but we certainly play our share of outdoor games every summer. I think at the top of our list would be beanbag toss and ladder ball. When I think about it the list of outdoor games we play is pretty long. My favorite may be Crockett but no one wants to play with me because I always win. Another oldie but goodie would be horseshoes. One thing is for sure, I love games and I love family time. I really look forward to this 4th of July weekend as

titus and philemon: Here Is Mud In Your Eye
- 06/30/25 05:51 AM
I doubt my kids (ages 23 and 24) know the expression, Here's Mud in Your Eye. It was common in my 20's when toasting at the bar. What is the origin of Here’s Mud in Your Eye? This expression is more common in British English than in American English. It is informal and originated around the 1930s. The exact source of this expression is unclear. Some people speculate it relates to mud from the trenches in World War 1. Because the soldiers had to dig, live, and fight in these trenches in the earth, they would get very muddy. Others point to the Bible as

titus and philemon: Getting A Good Night's Sleep
- 06/26/25 10:58 AM
Sometimes it is hard to get a good night's sleep. Last night Carol and I were at the train station seeing someone off. Amtrak leaves Minot at 11:00 PM when it's on time... that is an hour later then when I usually start sawing logs. An interruption from the normal schedule of things can really leave one tired. With today being Friday I do not feel guilty about opening my business an hour later to make up for that lost hour last night. I don't like yawning all day, especially if I have appointments set. It's just not professional and I like being

titus and philemon: Prospecting Can Be Like Yelling Down A Dark Hole
- 06/26/25 08:52 AM
Cold call prospecting can be like yelling into a dark hole. You don't know what will happen and most of the time nothing at all happens. I'm old school so when I think of cold calling I think about going door to door and introducing myself to who ever (if anyone) answers the door. It may not be the most effective way to prospect but if one person out of 100 shows interest it is worth it PLUS it's good physical exercise. As far as Real Estate goes I have only done this in a one mile radius of my own home. My logic

titus and philemon: Something Stinks
- 06/24/25 08:11 AM
Gee whiz, I hope my dog, Baby, Doesn't think I smell as bad as garbage. 🤥 One advantage to living as far North as we do is that one half of the year we can set our garbage out side and we don't have to worry about flies or any other insects. Obviously there are many wonderful reasons to live in North Dakota or I would not have stayed here for the last 40 years. One little reason is that six months of our year we have no insects, such as flies buzzing around if we set trash outside out back door. Of course

titus and philemon: Well Prepared
- 06/23/25 01:24 PM
Looks like Joe is ready to go out and lay in a hammock or sit in a nice camping chair. I'd like to join him but so far this year if I'm outside I'm doing chores and don't have time to relax. That being said I finally found an item to use the gift certificate my daughter gave me for fathers day. I'm going to go pick it up in the next few days and then I will be well prepared for our next camping trip or even for a cool evening in our back yard. Obviously Being Prepared would be a natural lead-in

titus and philemon: I'd Be Titus in the Following Cartoon
- 06/23/25 12:32 PM
I'm very self-conscious about my looks and I am always hoping my wife will let me know if I am miss dressed or am poorly groomed. Regretfully my spouse is totally blind to such things. It can be fun at times however as I may count the days before she realizes I shaved my head or my beard off. Thus I best check myself out in the mirror before I hit the street. Being oblivious to the obvious is NOT a good thing in Real Estate. If the house below looks fine to you then you really need to have a chaperone

titus and philemon: The First Day Of Summer
- 06/19/25 11:31 AM
Sorry but the first day of Summer is always depressing to me. We have hardly started our growing season here yet I know starting tomorrow the amount of daylight we receive will start shrinking. Timmothy's love of rhyme comes through with this cartoon. This is an example of a couplet type of rhyme. I have yet to even get out and camp this year. I love to camp but a wrench was thrown into the works this year with many campsites being closed due to lack of staffing. On the positive side our yard is looking better than it has for years as well

titus and philemon: I Hate To Burst Your Bubble
- 06/19/25 08:26 AM
Unfortunately bursting bubbles often goes along with being a Real Estate professional. This includes lenders. All real estate should start with a visit to a lender (why look at homes you may not be able to afford?). Once you start looking for homes there is always the possibility your dream home is just not out there on the market or within the reach of your budget to build. Moving along, once you have found a home that meets your needs, the danger of your bubble bursting is not yet over. I highly recommend a Home Inspection prior to purchasing. A home inspector is going

titus and philemon: Spit Is An Ugly Thing.
- 06/18/25 01:56 PM
Believe it or not I never learned to spit... really, not even in the dentist's office. When I try to spit it just goes out like a shower. You would think that after brushing my teeth a zillion times I'd know how to spit without getting it all over myself and the entire sink. I'll never be the guy below. While Titus (the guinea pig above) meant no disrespect to his owner it did happen and Joe was none to happy about it. Unintended Disrespect Whether you own your home or rent I'm sure you have experienced a time of some clod disrespecting your

titus and philemon: It's The Whole Package
- 06/17/25 07:40 AM
I can't say that I was like Joe, a kid who liked jumping into puddles. If I did it probably would have given my mother a breakdown as she was an extreme "neatnic". As far as the guinea pigs response, I'd suggest it is not either one or the other but the entire experience as a whole package. The product above is beautifully packaged and I'm sure that the way it is packaged brings about an air of excitement and anticipation that actually makes the contents taste better then it would if three little jars and a pack of crackers were thrown into

titus and philemon: Where Did That Expression Come From?
- 06/16/25 07:58 AM
Being I often deal with people whose second language is English this comic got me thinking that one should NOT use figurative language when dealing with people who may not know/understand our slang. As a Notary Public I need to adhere to the State of North Dakota's strict policies when it comes Notarizing a foreign document. Those strict policies are meant to keep me out of legal trouble and also protect everyone involved with the document I am notarizing. Admittedly this is NOT something I paid close attention to as a Real Estate professional. In retrospect I should have. I never did get

titus and philemon: It's Good To Know Where To Get Help For Your Pet
- 06/13/25 12:38 PM
Most of us know where to find a Dr for our own health but if you are in a new community you may not have a clue as to where to go if your pet needs help. Almost all vets will treat a dog or cat but what if you have a bird or guinea pig? The problem gets even more complicated when it's an emergency and an even greater concern when it's after hours or on a weekend. I myself have two go-to's. The Pinkerton Animal Hospital has been in Minot for ever and they were familiar with our dog (Baby) even

titus and philemon: Today Is Friday The 13th.
- 06/12/25 08:38 AM
I am NOT superstitious. My faith in Christ prohibits it. That being said I do believe in the supernatural as it is well documented in the Bible through God's miracles and examples of messengers of Satan using trickery to entrap the weak minded and even believers at times. I'm not writing this post because I want to get on a soapbox and preach, I'm writing it to comfort those who are concerned that this is Friday the 13th. If you have invited Christ into your heart you have nothing to worry about. It wasn't a Friday but one of the top three best

titus and philemon: There Is An Air Freshener For That
- 06/11/25 07:33 AM
To be more accurate, there is an air freshener that smells like that 😊. The drawback to air fresheners is they do not freshen the air! They color it and often they do NOT cover a scent that someone wants to cover. Air fresheners are an instant alarm to Real Estate professionals as we all know that those who use them are trying to hide a hideous odor. What smells better than fresh air... nothing! So what is a home Seller to do when they know their home has pet odors, smoking odors, or food odors? Few of us are willing to remove a pet from the

titus and philemon: Through the Fog and Smoke.
- 06/10/25 07:11 AM
AHHHH! I just wrote this post and it disappeared!!! Although Timmothy wrote this a month ago it fit Monday perfectly. Between it being another cloudy day, one of several consecutive days, and the Canadian smoke in the air it was a really dreary day. It was not very warm either so over all it was a day I would have rathered spend in bed. Locally we joke that: It looks like we will be smoking three pack of Canada today. Of course this is no joke to those of us who have breathing issues. It's no joke to the firefighters or the homeowners

titus and philemon: Something Seems Off
- 06/09/25 01:12 PM
I guess for Titus the guinea pig things were off by a hair or two 😄. It's not unusual for things to be a little off in an older home. This happens due to a homes foundation settling. You may be able to see it with a naked eye and you may not but using a level as pictured above you can easily detect how (by direction) the home has settled. A lesson I learned when I was 18. A close friend of mine purchased an old farmhouse to fix up and live in. It was a large home, abandoned for years, and it
