Time is short but it's not too late to file a property tax appeal - the deadline is this Thursday, August 30. The good news is that you have two weeks after you file to submit supporting documentation. For the villages of Winnetka, Northfield, Kenilworth, Wilmette, and Glencoe, the New Trier Township office will help you file your appeal. They are extremely helpful and will even send you comps for your home. Cook County reassesses your property taxes every three years.
