- 04/03/09 02:38 PM
The NY football Giants announced today that they have decided to release their troubled star wide receiver Plaxico Burress from the team. The star player, who caught the winning touchdown pass in last years Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots, has been in and out of trouble both on the field and off. Now the Totowa NJ resident will have to search for a new team if he manages to clear the criminal charges against him stemming from last falls shooting incident (involving an unregistered gun) in a NYC nightclub.

north jersey homes: Closing Today
- 03/31/09 09:45 AM
Who says the Real Estate market is bad? Good properties, priced right, still sell. This unit at Bald Eagle Village in West Milford is a good example.
We had an accepted offer in less than a week.
Today was the closing and here's a photo of the happy new homeowners with their buyer's agent - John Ryan on the right (who along with his wife Danielle were terrific to work with) at the final walk through.
Sellers happy...buyers happy...agents happy! Your North Jersey Real Estate Team Jim Albano and Jean-Marie Vantuno www.yourhomenorthjersey.com

Yes, despite the current economic crisis and the negative reports about the housing market, there are still people selling and buying homes in North Jersey. These happy buyers, brought in by Prudential NJ Properties, were gracious enough to let us photograph them next to our sign just after their walk through inspection prior to closing.
So what does this all mean? How about...homes ARE for sale, lenders ARE lending money, and buyers ARE taking advantage of great pricing and favorable terms and ARE buying! So what are you waiting for?

north jersey homes: A new guest Blogger
- 02/07/09 01:12 PM
Recently my friend and fellow Active Rain blogger - Lorrie Semler of Addison Texas - mentioned that her Mom, former Passaic NJ Mayor - Margie Semler, enjoyed writing opinion pieces on North Jersey life and politics. Seeing a natural tie in for my We Love North Jersey group here on Active Rain, I asked Lorrie if she might be able to convince her Mom to write some pertinent posts here on our blog pages. Well, apparently Margie is not a real big computer person, so she's allowed me the honor of posting her words here on my blog. So without further delay.....ladies and gentleman, (4 comments)

north jersey homes: The day the music died...
- 02/03/09 01:39 PM
50 years ago today - February 3, 1959 - the day the music died.... An American icon, Rock N' Roll pioneer and legend, Buddy Holly, was tragically killed in an airplane crash along with fellow musical stars of his era - Ritchie Valens and JP "The Big Bopper" Richardson - while on a winter tour. The small single engine aircraft that carried the entertainers crashed in a snow covered corn field outside of Clear Lake, Iowa. Fortunately Holly's music didn't die that day...in fact his music had a great influence on many musical artists who followed. Here's a video of Holly and his group (11 comments)

north jersey homes: Professional Photographs DO make a difference
- 01/19/09 04:03 AM
The Northern New Jersey Real estate market is very different these days - inventory is at an all time high and therefore buyers can afford to be really choosy. To say that buyers are in the drivers seat is an understatement. With that in mind, sellers and sellers agents need to use every tool at their disposal to market - of course yard signs, Multiple Listing Service, Brochures, Internet exposure, staging, and.... Professional Photographs. It's on that last point that I'd like to promote the photographer who I use for my listings. The difference between his photos and the ones (6 comments)

north jersey homes: What happens after that computer goes bad?
- 01/04/09 12:31 PM
What to do with that broken down computer and electronic equipment? You can't just toss it away in the trash. And what about things like household chemicals, paints, or even motor oils? Throwing out any of these things that may contain toxic substances is a definite no no. Well if you're a resident of Passaic County NJ, you do have a way to dispose of these items safely. Passaic County will be accepting items at the Para Transit Facility located at 1310 Route 23 north in Wayne on specific dates in 2009. Listed below are the items being accepted and (7 comments)

north jersey homes: Do I really need to do a Radon Test?
- 12/29/08 02:02 PM
Radon Gas is a subject that comes up with almost every Real Estate transaction in North Jersey. Many consumers are clueless however about what radon gas is, where it comes from, how it can affect you, and what it means to your Real Estate transaction.
Radon gas occurs naturally in the earth and can move through soil and rock entering buildings through cracks and openings. Once radon is inside a building, it will tend to remain indoors because most structures are designed to keep heated or cooled air from escaping. Also, lower air pressure inside buildings can create a vacuum, (24 comments)

A proprietary lease is issued establishing occupancy terms. There is no deed recording or recording of sale information. •· Board approval is required.
