The residents of West Caldwell Care Center are collecting food for those in the community who are in need. Non perishable items are being collected and can be dropped off at the West Caldwell Care Center located at 165 Fairfield Avenue between the hours of 8 am and 8pm. The New Jersey Monthly Magazine just came out with a poll of the top 100 Places to Live in New Jersey. Essex County fared well in this poll scoring with 12 of it's communities in the top 100 - 8 of these in the top 50. Some of the criteria used in formulating the data for this poll includes - total population, population growth, median home sales price (2007), median sales price change since 2000, median property taxes, open space - percentage of open land (2007), and crime rate (2006) per 1,000 people.
