The West Caldwell NJ municipal swimming pool applications for 2009 have been mailed to West Caldwell and Roseland residents. Pool badges are now available for those residents who responded by mail and can be picked up at the municipal building. For those who have not yet applied, forms are available at the West Caldwell Municipal Building - 30 Clinton Rd. Hours are Monday 9am - 7pm and Tuesday - Friday 9am - 4:30pm. The residents of West Caldwell Care Center are collecting food for those in the community who are in need. Non perishable items are being collected and can be dropped off at the West Caldwell Care Center located at 165 Fairfield Avenue between the hours of 8 am and 8pm. The West Caldwell NJ Municipal Court Chambers is slated for a 15 - 20,000 dollar renovation that will also serve to honor a former resident. The remodeled Chamber will bear the name of former West Caldwell resident and current Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. A former adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, Justice Alito was nominated by President George W. Bush on November 10, 2005 and confirmed January 31, 2006. Now Justice Alito will have his name mounted above the dais in the newly renovated Chambers of his former home town. Nice touch West Caldwell!
