rapid city real estate: Rapid City Real Estate Market - June 2009 - 07/10/09 10:27 AM
As you can see from the graphs below, we continue to see fewer sales than this time last year, but notice that the number of homes under contract remains the same.  We are also seeing our average selling price working out to higher than last year, so taking into consideration the fewer sales, I consider things to be holding steady.
Here's a look at the number of homes at the different price points sold during June of 2009:  We are starting to see the homes over $300,000 move more, which is great to see.

And now the charts:

rapid city real estate: Rapid City, SD Market Report - March 2009 - 04/10/09 06:02 AM
Well, it's been a struggle to get to homes much less look at any with a blizzard a week for 3 weeks that shut down the city along with no travel advisories.  So we were stuck at home one day and then spent hours shoveling the next.  Everyone I have talked to is ready for Spring!!
As you can see from the graphs below, the trend is down some.  I could blame lots of things and events, but it is as you see it.

rapid city real estate: 2008 - it was all about the attitude - 01/13/09 11:02 AM
So I'm finally able to sit down and reflect about 2008 and the upcoming 2009. (when January hit, my to-do list grew exponentially overnight!)
I'm quite content with my sales volume in 2008. I sold over 2 million in sales, came in pretty high in my company, and managed to work part-time assisting the commercial realtor in our office as well. When I look back and think about what I can attribute my sales to, it isn't the thousands of cold calls made and doors knocked on. I didn't have radio and TV spots and big billboards. (of course, the obvious … (0 comments)

rapid city real estate: Pride in property ownership; stringing up the lights - 12/10/08 10:11 AM
So we bought a new home recently.  I have been working real estate long enough for the banks to say, "Yeah, you're good."  It's been great.  We were all in a doublewide mobile home for 10 years - not a lot of room to find a break with the open kitchen/living room being the main activity area for me, my wife, 4 kids, the TV, and the computer.  So the space in our 2,000 square foot split level has been wonderful.  We even have a room downstairs designated as the "toy room."  Sometimes it's so quiet upstairs we wonder what the … (2 comments)

rapid city real estate: Ze first posting - 09/20/07 09:26 AM
Hello to all.
Well, I guess I should talk a bit about me on this first active rain posting of mine.  In an introductory sort of way, of course.
My name is Tristan Emond.  I started working as a real estate assistant in March of 2006, and have since got my license and am branching out on my own, selling residential homes and working with a commercial broker in out office leasing commerical spaces.  Keeping busy one way or the other.
I have lived in Rapid City since 1990.  I started working in hardwood floors right out of high school (should've taken that trip … (2 comments)
