I had the pleasure to see the results of a community that works together to improve itself. Today, I attended the Groundbreaking ceremony for the North Dekalb Senior/Community Center in Chamblee.And old office-type warehouse building will be torn down and replaced with a new 15, 000 sq. ft. building. Doraville GM Plant Talks Continue Talking is a good thing. It can lead to results. Representatives from Dekalb County and General Motors had more meetings as the Doraville GM Plant waits for a buyer and an economy worthy of a development of this size! The AJC reported that these talks happened this week, but there are no proposals on the table. I've written about this huge development potential numerous times....as you can see from the picture...it's a pretty big piece of land located smack dab in the middle of the Atlanta area!

The Atlanta Regional Commission released it's August, 2008 Regional Snapshot last week. It shows that the Atlanta Region has not been immune to the effects of the housing market. (Oh wow, I bet any REALTOR could of told me THAT!) But seriously, in a region that has seen an explosion of growth, for the period of April 1, 2007 - April 1, 2008, the region saw an increase of 70,200 people.
