motivation: How to Be a Better Realtor® Next Year Than You Are Today - 05/21/17 08:38 AM
Great stuff here if you missed it. My coach is all about "Routine is the new sexy" and I've got to get back into mine, and improve it more.
I also highly recommend "Take The Stairs" by Rory Vaden and "Mind over Market" by Tamara Dorris.
Hard to keep up with the reading, the blogging, the Facebook LIVE videos, shreek........
Sit back for a moment and think about your real estate business. Are you improving? Are you growing? Or are you just barely making it, surviving from moment to moment?
Unless you’re planning to get out of the real estate business soon, it’s important to be … (3 comments)

motivation: No One Is Coming - 09/08/15 03:22 AM
Yep. That’s right.
No One Is Coming.
Short. But it has been a powerful and sobering reminder for me.

Because yes, you can look for the next big thing that will fix you.

Read more blog articles. Read more personal development books. Look for people
to help you.

And yes, some articles, books, products or people will give you support and
insights that resonate deeply with you and that you can put into practice.

But in the end, if you are an adult then no one is coming. No one is coming to save
you. You have to take responsibility for your own life and … (5 comments)

motivation: I Like Mornings Because..... - 04/15/12 11:20 PM
I Like Mornings Because.....They are Great in So Many Ways!I like mornings in many different ways.I'm the MOST productive in the morning than I am the rest of the entire day. TOTALLY!I like mornings because nobody else is up in the house and I can think.I like mornings because I have the first cup of fresh brewed coffee. (Actually it comes in a beer glass so I get twice as much at one time)I like mornings because I get to watch the birds at the feeder getting their breakfast.I like mornings because the bird's song is clearer and not drowned out … (7 comments)

motivation: The 12 Laws of Karma -- Great For Your Morning Cup of Coffee - 03/06/12 10:38 PM
I think there is not a person alive that has not found themselves off track at some point.
Maybe it happened once, and never again. Maybe it happened twice because you missed the first lesson.
Maybe, you get off track weekly. In the crazy profession of real estate, staying on track can be a challenge. Maybe you are blessed with so much business, your follow up calls to your Sphere or past clients get forgotten. Or you don't keep up with those market reports and blog posts like you should.
Being off track does not just happen in your professional life. … (8 comments)

motivation: Learning to Dance in The Rain -- A Movie - 08/20/11 02:58 AM
Times are trying for many people today.
Not just here in the U.S., but the world over. No one seems to have a magic bullet. ( I wish they did!)
There does not seem to be a Captain America lurking around the corner to rescue me, or you.
So sometimes, we need a gentle reminder that life is still good, or pretty good.
As bad as we may think our life is, it could probably be much worse. (For anyone reading this, I hope it's not all that bad).
So, take moment, sit back, turn up your speakers and soak in … (12 comments)

motivation: "Pick Up the Pace Boy! You Wanna Play in This Game Or Not!" - 06/26/11 06:46 AM
Those words could easily be heard on any sports field or court as a coach pushes the players in training or in the game. Pushing them to do their best. Pushing them to better themselves, and give it 110%.
I don't have a coach in real estate. I did take a program once (the material was as old as the hills, and so was the coach....) but it came at a great price. Ah...you get what you pay for. Hey, I do still use some of the forms, so it was not a total loss.
So I was just posting some … (8 comments)

motivation: The Top 5 Regrets People Have On Their Deathbed - 06/04/11 03:49 AM
The Top 5 Regrets People Have on their Deathbed Sounds like a depressing topic, but it actually makes you stop and think. At least it certainly has given me reason to pause. I'm currently in Montana, where I was born, visiting family. Those of you that have moved away from your family can relate. The visit home to see Mom. (My father passed away in '94) Listening to the same stories, over and over.....and over. You have to laugh after awhile...or you just might cry. Trying to get your point across, but Mom knows better (sometimes yes..sometimes....NO?)  But then you pause...and … (105 comments)

motivation: Speechless Sunday --Foreign Land - 05/29/11 03:02 AM
There really are not enough, or the right words you can say to the families of our soliders serving in foreign countries all over the world.
Thank you seems so simple, so plain.
Daily, you must think and worry about where they are and if they are safe.
Daily, you must carry on with life and the business at hand while they serve their country in a foreign land.
Yet all I know to say is......Thank you.

motivation: The Beauty of Life. A Robin, A Nest and 4 Eggs - 05/23/11 02:35 AM
As a kid, I was always told to stay away from a bird's nest that had eggs in it. I was told you could scare the birds and they might not return to the nest to tend to the eggs. So, I've lived by that "rule" and still do.
I've had a couple nests built around my house, 1 in a tree, 1 in a hanging flower pot too, and one the ledge of my house behind my patio umbrella as you can see in this picture.
But this morning, a link to an amazing video appeared on my Facebook page. … (8 comments)

motivation: The Dash - What Will You Have Done With Yours - 05/29/10 05:15 AM
The Dash....

We've all heard the saying, "stop and smell the roses along the way." We all get caught up in our daily lives. For those of us in real estate, it might be hard to stop and smell the roses....when we are just trying to keep the boat afloat.
I often find myself stopping and saying, I need to take time off. But, time off means not working. There are some systems starting to fall in place that allow blog posts to show up automatically, and that makes me feel like I am still working. But it seems that … (7 comments)

motivation: Happy New Year Active Rain! Happy New Year Everyone! - 12/31/09 02:34 AM
Happy New Year Active Rainers! This evening, we will all do different things, at different places, in different ways. You may choose to enjoy the quiet of your home with just family, or maybe a few close friends. You may choose to dine in a fine restaurant and toast in the New Year with friends, or other guests you may not even know. You may choose to be in that wild and crazy night club and dance your way into the New Year (I'll be in between these two) No matter what way you choose, everyone stops, be it in the … (6 comments)

motivation: Lessons on Life. Lessons We ALL Should Learn. - 12/09/09 07:13 AM
Yep. That's me. One of those people that is forever in search of a great quote, phrase, saying or words of wit to apply to my life. I try to post such things daily on my Facebook page. I think they can make us stop, look, and listen to the world around us. You know, life is not getting any longer, or I'm not getting any younger. (Darn it anyway! I'm so cute!) Yet today, I just learned of a person, already gone from this life, who will have a future impact on my life. I had never heard of Jim … (9 comments)

motivation: I Gotta Feeling That Today's Gonna Be A Good Day! - 09/14/09 02:41 AM

Why?
Lots of reasons.
I woke up.
I pushed myself, and went to the gym to get myself back into the routine.
I've got new business that is giving me energy. There is nothing like showing homes to buyers to get you back in the grove.
I was out on the town last night and meeting people. A great feeling.
I Gotta Feeling That Today's Gonna Be A Good Day!
But just in case YOU need any motivation, let me pass this along.......
