Procrastination is something most of us do. But, if you know you could save a family members life would you procrastinate? If your answer is no! This means today is the day you need to donate, because without your help, someone could die, maybe even one of your family members. The American Red Cross needs your blood, no matter the type. So, instead of saying "Oh, I'll donate blood next week" and then next week never comes. Donate today while you have time and are thinking about it.

What a month it has been with all the snow storms across the country! But, when storms like this hit blood donations go down because people can't make it to the donation places. Want to be a hero? It isn't that hard and it only takes a couple hours. How can you be a hero in only a couple hours? Save someone's life by donating blood at the local Red Cross. (Especially if you have a rare blood type)
Donating blood is quick, easy and like I said only takes a couple hours. Then if you do that and then take your vacation, imagine how good you will feel knowing that you may have just saved someones life. I can tell you that instead of planning a vacation which can make you feel good for a few days, why not do something that can make you feel good forever and only takes a couple hours? That is right, donate blood! If you are planning your summer vacation, stop right now, take 3 minutes and plan to give blood and then go back to planning the vacation.

When is the best time to giveblood? The answer to that is anytime! Anytime you can donate blood, there will always be someone who could use it. But, as the holidays approach, why not give the best gift of all, the gift of life! My personal story is 20 years ago this year my dad had a liver transplant due to a rare liver problem. Thanks to someones donation of that liver and the blood transfusions needed during that surgery, I am happy to say my dad willbe celebrating a 20th extra Christmas with us this year.
