I love fall, the colors are amazing and as a armature photographer it gives me great opportunities to get some beautiful shots. But, kids, oh, the kids love fall for a completely different reason! As you can see even a leaf pile can be a place to play when you are a kid. Now, if you have kids, there is a safety tip for them though. With the return of fall and winter, don’t forget our little friends. You see during the spring and summer our backyard is full of life and beauty which is all a food source for our little backyard friends. But, with fall and winter the plant life that feeds our beautiful backyard friends disappears. Unlike a lot of other types of birds, hummingbirds don’t migrate and they need our help to stay alive. Fall is here, this isn’t the time to relax and forget about your home. The fact is, this is the time to watch your home in Oregon the most. Many people have been working on their houses all summer long to make them look beautiful and I do say they have to look amazing. But, what often happens as the weather starts to change and the colder days and rains arrive, some people get relaxed and forget about their home. Have you ever just sat there looking through the lens of your camera waiting for something to happen? Ever thing why can’t something just happen for me and then Mother Nature decides to say “OK” and give you that perfect shot that if you weren’t looking at it in the view finder after you got the shot you wouldn’t have believed you got it. Well, yesterday Mother Nature was listening and gave me that shot.

While sitting on Interstate 205 North bound on the way to my parents house just outside West Linn there is a this amazing viewpoint. This viewpoint can get you some amazing pictures and a break from the traffic that comes to a stop there because of some fools thinking that putting a metered onramp on a hill was a good idea making sure traffic that is going 55 can slow to 25 to let people in because they had to stop for a light at the top of a hill and had to try to get going again.

One of my favorite times of year is fall, the carving of pumpkins, the bright colors, the changes in texture on the ground. Today I was feeling a bit creative and decided to go out with my trusty Nikon D90 and take some classic fall shots and change them up a little and try a little black and white mixed with a few highlights for effect.

Fall is arriving, but here today we are having one last go at summer with temperatures expected to reach 80 today. I wish I could just lie down in a warm pile of leaves one day and take the day off, oh puppies have it so good sometimes. Maybe I will try it this year, it does look pretty comfortable!

It is true, I don’t know where my pants are! You see, I am one of those who, during the summer months, catching me in pants is not something you see very often, except for at church on Sunday. But, even that hasn’t helped me. You see, somehow, some way during the packing of stuff that was going to our new home, all my pants got boxed up and taken over to the new house and I’m stuck wearing my shorts. As the weather turns cooler and the trees start to drop their leaves, it can be a time of frustration as our heating bills go up. But, some people just don't care about that, they only see the true beauty of the season and by doing that, they can bring joy to others.
