photography: Spring is in the air and my camera is going to enjoy it! - 05/03/13 12:04 PM
I love spring! Baseball, nice weather and a great time to bring the camera out and see the beautiful sites that spring has to offer. Though most people aren't fans of bees, I think what they do is help pollinate all that beauty that is out there for us to view.

photography: Some Saturdays during baseball season are better than others - 06/03/12 02:08 AM
As many of you know this is only the 2nd year in the past 10 years that I have worked real estate during baseball season. When I stopped coaching, it gave me a little more free time to sell and not go crazy. But, Saturday usually ends up being a day that we arrive at the fields at 8:30 in the morning and aren’t getting home until 6pm at night with 3 kids all playing baseball and softball.
As soon as one game ends we are on to the next with no breaks. But, this Saturday we had a break, the … (12 comments)

photography: The sun is always shining, no matter how bad the storm looks - 05/30/12 07:30 AM

After every storm the sun will smile; for every problem there is a solution, and the soul's indefeasible duty is to be of good cheer.
William R. Alger
This is a quote I found today because I was looking for way to tell my son that there is a solution for everything you just need to look for it rather than get upset and be mad at the world for what is a temporary situation.

photography: We had a new friend at our basement door - 05/26/12 11:46 AM
What a surprise we had today, there at our basement door we had a visitor. Now, this is a door probably hasn’t even been opened in 20 years. But, as we headed out to the backyard, we spotted this little one out of the corner of our eye. We sat there and talked to our friend and took pictures for more than 30 minutes until our new friend fell asleep. That was when we decided to leave her alone. I guess it got out that I’m in to saving these little ones and wouldn’t mind them coming over to stay.

photography: The rainbow before the storm - 05/26/12 12:57 AM
Now, yesterday I caught this great shot of this rainbow and then within 5 minutes we had a lot of thunder and lightning. Now, I won’t like I was really hoping for that National Geographic moment when I got a picture of lightning behind the rainbow, but that never happened.
So, enjoy the rainbow and maybe next time I can name it the rainbow during the storm.

photography: Look who we got to meet on the way home - 05/17/12 02:27 AM
As we were coming back from Softball last night, who should we see along the side of the road? Now, unfortunately mom was on the other side of the fence and this little one couldn't make the jump.
But, don't worry my daughter and I blocked traffic until mom could come rescue baby and show this little one the way around the fence.

photography: Hello Mr. Sun… Meet Miss Meri Gold, isn’t she beautiful? - 05/16/12 03:31 PM
Oh, the sun has finally come out here in Oregon and we have had a lot of it. Almost 2 weeks without a drop of rain now and the flowers are starting to bloom and my camera is really starting to get the dust taken off of it.
This marigold was just popping out to say hello on day 4 of the sun and I had to take its picture, it didn’t seem to mind as it held still for the entire photo shoot.

photography: Not all mushrooms look or taste the same - 05/12/12 02:35 PM
I love mushrooms, but I also know that I won’t be caught out in the wild picking them unless I’m with someone who knows what to look for as not all mushrooms are the same. Some mushrooms are perfectly good to eat, while others can kill you!

Now, I’m not sure if these will, but I just thought they were different and in their own way beautiful, so I brought out the camera and enjoyed what months of rain brought us here in Oregon.

photography: Everyone is starting to come out to enjoy the sun - 05/10/12 01:29 PM
We have had a week of wonderful weather here in Beaverton, Oregon and are expected to through the weekend. The reports say that Monday could even come close to 90 degrees! For those of you who know Portland, we maybe only get 10-15 90 degree plus days a year. But, as you can see everyone is starting to come out and enjoy the sun.

photography: Spring has arrived and I can already see a blackberry pie in my future - 05/08/12 09:52 AM
One thing about Oregon is we have wet winters, but when the sun does arrive, the plants slowly come to life and prepare to bare their fruit for us. Today for the 2nd day in a row the sun came out and I spotted this guy in our backyard. This means in a couple months if we are lucky I will be able to have my first sugar free blackberry pie.

photography: Where do you find inspiration? - 04/28/12 03:06 AM

Sometimes you just see a photo opportunity that inspires you and that is what happened with my daughter at the ocean this past Saturday. Today she is 8 and she is ready to take on the world and I do believe like her that nothing can stop her! Happy birthday Tascha! … (15 comments)

photography: Out with my camera today and came across some EGG-cellent photo opportunities - 04/07/12 01:28 AM
While at the gym I met my new work out partner, lucky for me he breaks easier than I do, but he does seem to be doing very well on his high protein diet.
Next up, as I was leaving the gym, which is near a Walmart, I noticed White Trash Egg coming out, dressed in the ever popular Sunday best for Walmart… in a ‘70’s tube top. (Shhh, I think she stuffs)

Then, while at a concert, once again there was a wardrobe malfunction with the EGG-hibitionist. It was sad to see, but like Janet at least she had … (29 comments)

photography: It was a dark and snowy night - 01/31/12 03:30 PM

It was a dark and snowy night in Beaverton, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a great picture. When I looked out back to the trees, this is the beautiful view I had that dark and snowy night. The sad part was by morning pretty much all the snow was gone and this picture was all we had to show for it. The kids were certainly a little disappointed.

photography: Where is all that Oregon rain going Todd? Oregon City Falls, wait what falls? - 01/23/12 07:02 AM
In 2008, I took this picture of the Oregon City Falls and it shows what the falls normally look like, but yesterday that is not what the falls looked like. The fact is they looked more like a ripple in a fast moving river because the Willamette River was at flood stages and was moving real fast!
Now, below is the picture from yesterday and as you can see, there is a major difference between the picture from 2008 and the one I just took. With all the snow runoff we are getting along with the inches upon inches of rain, … (12 comments)

photography: Leaving the office can sometimes be the best education - 11/27/11 11:40 AM

I love learning and I learn a lot more out in the real world than I ever could in a book. This is one of the reasons when I find a learning opportunity that I can either read about it in a book or go be hands on with the education, I will pile the kids in the car and we will go out and learn rather than reading about it.
You want to learn, go touch that tree, that rock, that mountain, feel the education and really learn.

photography: God's grace and beauty - 11/27/11 08:44 AM

One of the things I miss most about being a kid is riding horses almost everyday. I do believe God gave us horses to show us what grace and beauty he could create. If you want to really see what grace and beauty at work, then stop by a farm and watch a horse for an hour. (You will truly be amazed by God's creation) … (9 comments)

photography: The kiss that echoed - 11/09/11 05:19 AM

How often have you been in an argument with your loved one and saw no end to the argument in sight? Have you ever thought about walking up to your loved one and just kissing them on the cheek and saying “I LOVE YOU”? You will be amazed at how powerful that kiss will be?

photography: I love the colors of autumn - 11/07/11 07:00 AM

The colors of autumn are rich and beautiful and something that just can’t compare with any other time of year for me. This is why I love autumn and it is my favorite time of year. It also helps that my favorite color is orange. But, it seems to be a favorite among kids as well.

photography: Reflections - 10/25/11 03:19 AM

Reflecting on one’s life is something that we all do from time to time, but don't let it control your life. Look to the future and know that it will be bright. Only look to the past as a reference point and don't make the same mistakes twice.
Make it a great day!
