rain: Where is all that Oregon rain going Todd? Oregon City Falls, wait what falls? - 01/23/12 07:02 AM
In 2008, I took this picture of the Oregon City Falls and it shows what the falls normally look like, but yesterday that is not what the falls looked like. The fact is they looked more like a ripple in a fast moving river because the Willamette River was at flood stages and was moving real fast!
Now, below is the picture from yesterday and as you can see, there is a major difference between the picture from 2008 and the one I just took. With all the snow runoff we are getting along with the inches upon inches of rain, … (12 comments)

rain: There are certainly days I envy you! - 03/25/11 06:30 PM

I love Oregon, but I also love taking pictures of Oregon. But, there is nothing more frustrating that seeing what you think is a great shot and then getting home to see a rain drop right in the middle of the picture. You see, I look at some of my vacation photos and see that beautiful sun and think about here, where the last 24 of 25 days have had rain, and think, boy do I envy you people that are already seeing the early signs of spring.

So, as the global warming trend continues, (JOKING) we are going … (17 comments)

rain: Dry basements and attics yesterday, don’t mean that today! - 03/02/11 05:58 PM

Yesterday we set a new record for the amount of rain on that day in a 24 hour period. The previous record was set in the 1950s and yesterday we shattered that by more than double. One of the things buyers seem to always ask is, “How is the roof?”
Since I’m not an expert at roofs and really don’t like climbing on them, (not because I’m scared of heights, heck I used to bridge jump) I’m just afraid of falling. I know, silly difference, but jumping off a 50 foot high bridge into water below, I knew what to … (17 comments)

rain: Oregonians are weird creatures, won’t you become one? - 08/10/10 08:14 PM
Many people think of Oregon that has a lot of rain and yes we do, but, mainly during the winter months and this year was an extra wet year. We had record amounts in April, May and June this year averaging 25 days of rain in each of those months. It actually pushed our fresh fruits and vegetables back a little. We are just getting our blueberries and strawberries in now and they normally show up in the beginning of June.

But, as much as we complain about the rain being her too long, we will also complain about the … (14 comments)

rain: Where did I park my house? By Todd Clark - 02/02/10 03:37 PM
This post isn’t about manufactured homes in parks, this post is about homes that have moved because the Earth underneath them has moved. During the winter months, I have to admit, Oregon is known for getting alot of rain and for the most part our land can handle it. But, every once in awhile, there is a piece of land that can’t handle all the rain and that is when we get the landslides you see on the news.
But, what about the houses in the landslides path or in some cases the hill where the house is built comes crashing down with … (16 comments)

rain: Don't get depressed because of the rain, enjoy the beauty that it has to offer - 01/20/10 03:59 AM
The one thing most people don't like about Oregon is one of the main reasons I love it so much! The Oregon rain brings some of the greenest forests in the world and some of the greatest waterfalls to take pictures of. Imagine being able to hike year round and get shots like this.
Oregon has some of the most and the best hiking trails in the world and I wouldn't trade them for the world or the sunny weather. Here is a picture from Horse Shoe Falls area just up the gorge near Multnomah Falls and if you are looking for … (13 comments)

rain: What a difference a day can make - 07/18/07 05:34 PM
I showed a house to a couple a few weeks ago and I knew they would love it! It was the perfect home for them.
That particular day it was dark and raining, we went to the home and they just hated it! Everything was wrong with it! I was amazed, it had everything they wanted.
So over the next few weeks of e-mailing them, they e-mailed back and say we found the perfect home. So they sent me the MLS# and what do I see. The home I showed them 3 weeks earlier and not even a price change. I DIDN'T SAY … (22 comments)
