Short Sales Important Update: The Mortgage Debt Relief Act of 2007 will expire at the end of 2012. What this means is that Short sale sellers will be getting sent a 1099 for their shortages starting Jan 1, 2013 if this bill is not extended. Considering some short sales take a year to close, I'd get it listed NOW if you are thinking about short selling!

That's right; apply for a Loan Modification and your payment is more likely to come back with a higher payment than you are currently paying!  I've seen it happen over and over. 
Julie, a client of mine, submitted a Loan Modification package and her Loan Modification came back at $974.00 a month OVER what she is currently paying.  REALLY?  She couldn't make her current payments and asked for help and this is what happens?

 I have several agents that handle rentals just to survive in this market, and I am amazed at how long these rent checks are taking the other local brokers to process.  I have an agent that closed a deal 5 weeks ago and has yet to recieve her part of the rental commission!   It seems the bigger franchises are the worse! 
Five weeks???  Come on Brokers!
