Renton has a STOP & SWAP event scheduled for this week at the Renton Memorial Stadium, South Parking Lot where you (residents of the city) can bring in unused items that are in good working order & condition for swapping with others. You don't even have to bring anything to be able to pick up items. The idea is basically to help keep good items out of landfill and to provide a new way for people to reduce, reuse and recycle. The latest utility mailing from the City of Renton brings us news of Renton's Spring Recycle Day set for May 9, 2009. With drop off at the North parking lot of Renton Technical College from 9am to 3pm, this should be a busy day in town for anyone clearing out shrubs/trees from their yards, and for getting rid of some of the larger items in a household that traditional waste management doesn't pick up regularly. Realty Times recently had an article published that outlined many of the customer trends that were impacting new construction. I've seen many of these same trends within my own client base regardless of whether they were buying new or resale homes. This should be a list that sellers should consider when preparing their homes for sale, or for homeowners who are looking to do some remodeling but want to know what might help them make a more viable and market friendly home for the future.
