Okauchee has never been a big village. I remember walking about a mile to the "downtown" area, to Tweeden's Drug store, and debating whether I wanted a malt, a sundae, or a comic book. Tweeden's is long gone but other businesses have popped up in it's place. In the old Tweeden's spot is Glenda's restaurant. A couple of doors down is Bella's Cafe (fairly new business). The Avenue bar is still around. So is the Okauchee Barber. Another new business is the Lakeview Salon in the old Four Season's building. Okay. It had to happen sometime. It's my turn to spend Sunday at Vespera, Valley road and St. Andrew's Place in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. I just love the place, and everytime I'm there I start to think about making an offer myself. So I need people to come visit me, so I don't start thinking!! Okay, the theme was St. Paddy's Day. I had Irish Coffee, shamrock cookies, and Irish stew. We had about 5 couples come through the first day. One couple was seriously looking for a condo or ranch in the area. Another couple was driving by and saw the signs. Two couples were sent by local realtors, and were touring all the opens in the neighborhood, and the last couple came from the apartments a few roads down. Today's my St. Paddy's Day Open House weekend. We emailed, blogged, called, sent postcards, etc., but will it work? What works best in today's marketing world? The open is in Johnson Creek, WI. A small, growing community between Madison and Milwaukee. The condos that are for sale are great! Nice neighborhood, conservancy nearby, 2.5 attached garage, side by sides with private entry. Well kept landscaping, lots of quality perks in the ranch-townhome style. And the pricing is low compared to comparable property just a few miles east (or west nearer to Madison).
