Speechless Sunday - Rainbow Over Red Lodge I am going to Yellowstone National Park tomorrow (Monday) and looking forward to it. Did you know that the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park is only 69 miles from Red Lodge? As I posted some of my best photos of last weekend's Rodeo of Champions and July 4th parade (Photos of Red Lodge Rodeo and July 4th Parade - Red Lodge, Montana (Part 1)), it rained for a very brief time and immediately cleared up with this very beautiful and colorful view.

Not-So-Speechless Sunday - Red Lodge Sunrise on Father's Day I was up earlier than usual today and in time to admire today's beautiful sunrise in Red Lodge. Here are a few of my best shots in chronological order. They were all taken using a tripod on Father's Day (June 20, 2010) from the top of a hill in Grizzly Peak Mountain Homes subdivision.

When you have a rich soil, regular water and sunlight, you get the right ingredients for beautiful flowers. The town of Joliet, 26 miles North of Red Lodge on Highway 212, every spring, has beautiful poppies growing by the side of the highway. I captured this photo shortly after it rained and when the sun came up from behind the clouds. The exact time was June 7, 2010 at 7:35pm. I guess I was lucky as all the right ingredients were there for a beautiful photo. :) HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

Speechless Sunday - Absarokee Sunset on Christmas Day I can not imagine getting tired of taking photos of sunrise and sunsets. Here are a couple of photos taken at dawn using my digital camera's zoom lense from the backyard of my friends' house in Absarokee, Montana (Absarokee is about 30 miles from Red Lodge).

The following photo was taken on June 29, 2009 shortly after leaving Yellowstone National Park from the East Entrance and headed towards Cody, WY. My brother spotted this moose and we stopped the car to watch him for a few minutes. It was the second sighting of a moose for my brother and nieces in less than a week during their summer vacation in Montana/Wyoming! I consider myself lucky when I get to see one moose in a period of 6 months in or around Red Lodge.

One of the things I enjoy doing more since living in Red Lodge is to look at the stars at night. It is very difficult to capture and show you this. No photo can do justice to the feeling you get at looking at a clear sky at night and seeing the multitude of shining stars.
