The Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP) has expanded to help military members hurt financially during the mortgage crisis by PCS moves. HAP is now accepting applications, "but not processing them until procedures, regulations and funding are in place." In the month of January 2009, 41 Single Family Homes sold in Beaufort MLS. The median sold price was $198,000 with 187 days on the market. This is a slightly lower median home price than seen in 2008. We will have to monitor this trend together to see if it continues. The Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, AKA Blue Angels, will be attending the 2009 Air Show at MCAS Beaufort. The Air Show will attract hundreds of thousands of attendees during the 2 day FREE event. The last Air Show with the Blue Angels was in April of 2007. This was the Air Show where the Blue Angels lost one of their members in a firey crash in the Burton area (near Beaufort). I remember....... As many of you know, I travel for my job and love to listen to audio books on CD. I have found the most wonderful program through Cracker Barrel restaurants. You can 'rent' audio books on CD. When you first go into a Cracker Barrel, you pick out your audio book and pay full retail. Then keep the book, listen to it while traveling, return it within a few days/weeks, and receive a credit for the retail price that you paid minus the weekly rental charge.
