matt stigliano: Rockstars and Real Estate at The Hip Roof - Monday 1PM (Eastern) Webinar with Matt Stigliano - 03/06/11 02:34 AM
What do rock and roll and real estate have in common?
Me.  If you've known me for awhile, you probably now that I don't just call myself "rerockstar" because it sounds good.  It's actually rooted in my past.  This week, Monday March 7th, join us at The Hip Roof at 1PM (Eastern) as Maya Paveza grills me on rockstars and real estate.
The Hip Roof held their first webinar last week with ActiveRain's Ben Kinney and it was a an hour full of interesting facts and information about what makes Ben Kinney tick and how he's using different tools - traditional … (2 comments)

matt stigliano: Thank you for contacting me. - 11/02/10 03:26 PM
Your message has been delivered.
As lightning fast as the internet is, I'm not quite as fast.  I will respond to your message soon.  If you need to contact me immediately, please call or text (210) 646-HOME.
As I give my clients my full, undivided attention I do not answer phone calls or emails during showings or appointments, but leave me a message and I will get back to you as quick as possible.  There is nothing more annoying (in my eyes) than an agent who is yapping into the phone with one client or has their head buried in their … (15 comments)

matt stigliano: "The Comfort" at TattooedRE.com - 08/12/10 08:38 AM
The bottom of a bottle of comfort.
So I'm sure you're all looking at the photo and reading the line above and thinking, "uh-oh, he's really hit rock bottom."  Don't worry, the photo was just for illustrative effect, nothing more.
I just thought I'd fill you in on a new post I wrote over at TattooedRE.com that continues a bit on my previous post here at ActiveRain about my own personal struggles in real estate.  The response to that post was amazing - emails, comments, calls, and people from just about everywhere reaching out and telling me their story or offering … (11 comments)

matt stigliano: Tattoo You: What do real estate and tattoos have in common? - 05/13/10 10:48 AM
Tattoos and Real Estate.
Two things that don't sound like they have much in common, but based on several late night conversations via Twitter with some of the agents I know, not as mismatched as one might think.  Tattooing is an ancient art that has really come into its own over the past decade.  I come from a family that has tattooing in its blood - both my father and brother being Marines who have several well worn tattoos between them.  Real estate is a passion for me, but so is the art of tattooing.
But this post really isn't about … (18 comments)

ActiveRain helps me get quoted.
Late last week I received a call from California.  I had no idea what was waiting for me on the other end of the phone.  It was Jenna V. Loceff.  She explained she was a reporter for the North Bay Business Journal and wanted to speak with me a bit about social media and real estate.  In researching her article, Jenna, had a few mentions of Flickr and while googling away, she came across my article, "A stern warning (or lack thereof) - Flickr is watching … (12 comments)

matt stigliano: I set my sights on a goal and I reached it. One down, more to come. - 10/12/09 03:35 AM

Setting goals and reaching them.
I wasn't much of a goal setter when I started in my real estate career.  I didn't even have them written down.  Thanks to encouragement from people like Missy Caulk, I did wind up setting goals for myself for the year.  Of course, when I switched brokers, I feared I might not accomplish some of them.  I figured it would take some time to get situated in my new office and discover exactly what it was that I felt I had been missing at my last office.  I needed time to … (58 comments)

matt stigliano: Does Google know you exist? Or are you just another face in the crowd? A simple test. - 10/08/09 09:14 AM

So simple, yet so powerful.
I was watching a bit of the Dakno TV feed from REbarcamp Lynchburg today when I saw David Patterson and our very own Clint Miller speaking.  The talk was great - there was a lot of territory that was covered, but one thing stood out to me.  It's simple, but says so much.
David was talking about Google and trying to figure out how "searchable" you were.  All of us constantly want to know if we're holding the #1 spot or if we are holding 3 on the first page or … (29 comments)

matt stigliano: You did it. I'm Going To (RE)BlogWorld! - 10/02/09 06:00 AM

If you didn't catch the Twitter news...
I won.  I am heading to REBlogworld and Blogworld this month!  Guy Kawasaki confirmed in yesterday over at Alltop's Holy Kaw!, as you can guess, I'm really excited and as promised, I will absorb as much as I possibly can so that I can come back full of new ideas and helpful tips.  Congratulations also go out to @keepingupwmom and @mrsnatalie for their winning efforts.  I look forward to getting a chance to say hello to them as well.  Of course, I also look forward to meeting many of … (15 comments)

matt stigliano: San Antonio Twitter Workshop - Tuesday, October 13th - Everyone's Welcome! - 10/02/09 04:38 AM

Gulp.
So it appears that I will be appearing at this workshop to pass on some of my thoughts on Twitter.  Yikes!  This series of workshops/classes that RE/MAX Access has been doing have been a great success and I'm proud to be a) a part of the office, and b) part of this particular workshop.
I hope to see a lot of new faces and have some fun.  Bring your questions and we'll do our best to answer them.  Don't forget your laptop!  Things are best when learned hands on.

matt stigliano: Open Letter to First Time Home Buyers - 08/05/09 03:49 PM
Spread the word.
I came across this re-blog on Kristin Moran's blog (I sit two doors down from her everyday, yet she always discovers great stuff I don't know about).  Reading through it I found myself nodding in agreement.  It's going to be a close call for many home buyers who sit and wait.  I fear for them.  Imagine trying to close just as doomsday approaches.  Imagine something goes wrong.  Imagine your closing is delayed by one day.  Imagine losing $8,000 because your loan didn't fund on the correct day.  Would you be angry?  Of course you would.  I would be … (4 comments)

matt stigliano: Matt Stigliano, San Antonio Real Estate Agent joins RE/MAX ACCESS in Garden Ridge, Texas. - 07/31/09 10:53 AM

I love talking about myself.
Actually, I don't.  But I do love to see my name in print!  My broker, Sheila Moran of RE/MAX Access gives you the scoop on none other than me.  As you can see from my comment, I love it here.  It's only been a short time, but already I can see I've made a great decision to come to Garden Ridge.  And it's not just Sheila.  It's everyone in the office.  The office has a great vibe to it - everyone isn't just here for the paycheck, we're here to do an incredible job - … (13 comments)

31 Days To Build A Better Blog Challenge.
If any of you followed my series on the 31 Days To Build A Better Blog Challenge you'll know that I had a great time doing it and learned a lot (and yes, I still have a few more posts due and they are coming soon).  Not only did I make some great friends, learn a ton about blogging, write some great blogs, earn a ton of points on ActiveRain, and have a bit of fun - I also increased my traffic (to both ActiveRain and RErockstar.com), started … (11 comments)

matt stigliano: BlogTalkRadio - Tech In Twenty interviews me. - 01/22/09 11:47 AM

Tonight 8PM Central - I do an interview that doesn't involve my favorite albums.
In just a few moments, I'll be joining the Tech In Twenty crew over on Blog Talk Radio for my first ever real estate interview.  I've done a million interviews over the years in the music industry, but this one is going to be exciting for me.  Its my first chance to talk about real estate in this kind of situation.  I'm looking forward to it.  I encourage you all to listen and hang out for awhile.  Interesting enough is that the topic is social media … (14 comments)
