ri real estate: It's always about the price! - 07/21/17 06:56 AM
I have been a Realtor in Rhode Island for quite awhile. I am not sure when I read this, but at least 10 years ago, I read a blog about selling toothpaste from someone here in the ActiveRain community. This blog featured Disney, free tickets, lots of hype about a particular tube of toothpaste. The price for the toothpaste was pretty high and not what you would normally want to pay.
The whole point of that blog was that no matter how hard or crazily you advertise something, that toothpaste was not worth the price!

ri real estate: Custom Home Builder in Rhode Island - 06/13/16 04:23 AM
It's hard to find a Builder that will work with you to design your Dream Home, but here in Rhode Island and parts of Connecticut there is one builder that does just that.
His name is Tim Rainville and he is the owner of Rainville Builders, LLC.
Stonehurst Realty has recently partnered with this company and we are very excited to work with them.
If you want to learn more about them and see some of their portfolio, check out their website at www.rbbuilder.com or you can go to their new Facebook page which is in the process of being built at www.facebook.com/luxurydreamhomes.  These are … (0 comments)

ri real estate: One day left until HUD house is open to Investors! Warwick RI - 03/03/11 03:40 AM
Are you looking for HUD houses? Here is a very cute house, located at 58 Louisiana Ave, in Warwick RI..
This is an excellent opportunity to own your own home or by tomorrow, make an investment and buy it for cash.
HUD houses are listed by Neighborhood Listing Brokers. They are inspected and insured (if insurable) before going on the market.
HUDS first priority is offering these homes to Owner occupants and  non profits, so for this reason, this home has been listed solely in that capacity.
As of tomorrow, this home will be open to investors. All bids may be … (4 comments)

ri real estate: The Internet vs a Professional Realtor? - 07/07/10 06:29 AM

This post was inspired by a post by Richard Weisser here. My comment was getting way too long, so here it is.  The question was about Brokerages phasing out due to the Internet.

I worry more about HGTV than the Internet! The Internet is my best friend. I have made more contacts, advertised homes more successfully and have even had a client find a home to look at that I missed!
Realtors do not simply find homes! That is the easy (and may I say "fun") part.
I have not lowered my commission rate and really do not plan … (13 comments)

ri real estate: Rhode Island Real Estate buyers! Get ready now! - 03/23/07 12:08 PM
Spring is here and as most people know, a lot of homes are going on the market. Homes "look" better in the spring and its more fun to shop for a home when there's no snow on the ground. If you are looking for a home, I would advise you to get started now. You need to get yourself approved for a mortgage, find out how much you can afford and get looking. If you want to work with a Realtor, start looking for one you feel comfortable with, who will take the time to find out what you want and … (12 comments)

ri real estate: Foreclosures Cheap Houses!!! - 12/27/06 11:02 AM
The REO fallacy.

Are you looking for a great deal in an investment property. Or the quintessential flip? All you have to do is check the foreclosures online and in every paper and arrive at the auction. Yeah right! How many auctions have ended up with a non bank buyer?

Okay, well I see them on the market all the time now. They must be cheap, they are bank owned. Nope, the bank wants fair market value, just like any seller of property.

Today's market has substantially increased the foreclosure market. Right now this market is just a blur. A lot of … (6 comments)

ri real estate: Rhode Island Realtor's promise to you...............! - 11/03/06 12:22 PM

What do I want people to know about me?

They already know I am a Realtor in Rhode Island.
They know I am very familiar with the small neighborhoods,in Warwick, and  especially coastal neighborhoods in Rhode Island.
They may or may not know I occasionally deal in REO property.
They may or may not know I am currently working on my ABR designation and acquiring my Broker's license.
But what I really want potential customers to know about me is that I am unique.

No matter what they are looking for, I will find a way to get it. I will research and call and … (6 comments)
