Growing up in Silicon Valley, Calif., my youngest child Mo absolutely loved the idea of Opposite Day. Opposite Day was even an annual "event" at Mo's elementary school. 
As we come from a family of pioneers and rebels, it's no surprise many family members (not just Mo), also  embraced Opposite Day.
If I told Mo to clean a room, and then later found it was still messy, Mo would gleefully say, "It's Opposite Day! I thought you meant 'Don't clean my room.' Ha ha ha."

January 25 is Opposite Day! Or Is It?
