Even when I try to be organized, I'm amazed at my default ability to seemingly mess things up.

The Bible says, "All things work together for good for those who love the Lord." Sometimes we don't understand why we suffer through a trial. Yet later God uses the wisdom we learned to help another person experiencing the same pain.
Keep in mind God is preparing you-even when you feel incapable and unprepared.

Whose Pleasure Are You Living For?

I enjoy life and its pleasures; I'm sure you do, too. Today's Our Daily Bread devotional asks "Whose Pleasure Are You Living For?"
Savoring a delicious meal is a pleasure each of us can experience, usually without regret. The Bible says that God “gives us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Tim. 6:17).
While that activity are not sinful in and of itself, the pleasure is not lasting. Hours later, a person will be hungry again.
