Most of us have had a mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt or sister who helped raised us growing up. Sadly, my mother and grandmothers and all but one aunt have moved up to heaven.
Some of my best memories with my mother are of her reading to me. Whenever I was sick, she would read Robert Louis Stevenson's, "A Child's Garden of Verses" to me. Later on we shared books such as "Little Women". As an adult, we frequently read and shared books back and forth, especially Agatha Christie mysteries.
