   In the Almaden area, short of your farming neighbor next door, probably the closest farmers market would be the "Blossom Hill Certified Farmers' Market". I'm not sure why they call it that because most items are organic but not all are.  It's in the HUGE parking lot at the Princeton Plaza Mall at Kooser and Meridian on Sunday's 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. and if you go be sure to try the Crepes.

    There is also the farmers market on Saturday mornings in Willow Glen as well behind the Garden Theater building (1165 Lincoln Ave.). The Willow Glen Community Farmers' Market manages to get all your local growers in the area, an arts and crafts exhibit and it wouldn't be Willow Glen without live music as well. Plenty of parking and good times to be had as well starting around 9:30 A.M. on Saturday's.

    If you happen to be in Hollister on a Wednesday afternoon in the summertime you may want to consider the Farmers market here, from about 3:30 to 8:30. It seems to be getting bigger and bigger every time I go. With food, drinks and of course the unbeatable growers in the area that are literally showing off their, mostly organic crops. It seems more and more towns are going back to a tradition that has always been in Hollister, our little slice of heaven.... And don't pass up the Kettle Corn, my favorite!

Well just in time for the 3 Day weekend BBQ....?

It took only about 5 hours to put together but the time was spread out over several weeks. If it's not on the calendar it never gets done, for me, like the rest of you out there that holds true to more than just business. Just going out to put on a coat of sealer and my goal to be done by the 4th was met!

So although we won't be in town to christen her this weekend next weekend, with the kids coming over will be just fine. … (1 comments)

   Well it's that time of year again and Independence day is right up there on my Holiday favorite list. When you think 4th of July, you gotta think BBQ... or grilling whatever you want to call it. Family, Friends and Neighbors are the way I've celebrated for years now, but we go up to Tahoe for this one. There is no other way in my eyes than to close out the day with such a spectacular show a the one put on over the lake. Oh, and did I mention the Gambling after wards.... :-).

    Okay I spent some time with my grandson who's out here from Texas just for the summer. He saw the Monster School Bus Truck last week in the Lowes parking lot, I promised him we would come back as we were in a hurry. So Saturday we went out to Lowes and there was no Monster Truck there, OMG I felt terrible. An understanding employee at Lowes suggested we go check out the cars downtown.     Last Friday night driving through Morgan Hill with the love of my life we were fortunate to find another fun new thing to do on Friday's. Every Friday night in June, July and August there is an event held at the C&C Center Amphitheatre, live music with a new band each week. The "Friday Night Music Series" as it is appropriately called, gives you the opportunity to enjoy your favorite local restaurants and enjoy music and dancing under the stars! Well be sure to attend next week's event because this one is just a statistic.... Speaking of which;

   Well once again the Willow Glen Business Association pulled off the annual "Dancin' on the Avenue" in Willow Glen. This was their 16th annual event held Saturday from 4 to 9 (just an estimation there) with Music, Food, Kids events, Food, Dancing in the streets is allowed and did I mention F-O-O-D! This is a one day event on the Avenue between Willow and Minnesota and I heard numbers of over 30K visitors... OMG! Well be sure to attend next year's event because this one is just a statistic.... Speaking of which;

 "Always do right - this will gratify some and astonish the rest", my dad was a big Mark Twain fan and I was reminded of his words often growing up as a child.  Being raised with his quote in mind was confusing as a child and then as I grew older it became clearer to me on the worth of those words. I now see it as the "Do unto others" or even the "Pay it forward" theory. These words have always worked for me in the past, so I will continue in the future. Hollister California, I call it home and have been here for the last 14 years. Watching things change here over those years there's still only a couple reasons (IMHO) you would be coming to Hollister. So if you're driving through to go down to the Pinnacles or to the Hollister Hills Recreational 4 wheel drive park sure you'll go through Hollister and were glad to see you.     I read this morning that Bank of America and its Countrywide unit will pay 8.5 BILLION dollars back for selling poor quality MB securities that went bad after the housing collapse. This is a mere 2% of the actual value sold and everyone seems good with that. Help me out here; simple math says that that leaves about 98% somewhere on the books as black ink? That percentage translates into a more exciting number of 415.5 BILLION dollars..... Wow. It doesn't end there either; this settlement will allow them to post a quarterly loss as well.
