fathers day: Dad and Grandpa - 10/15/15 10:41 AM
I wasn’t even a sparkle in my Dad’s eye in 1936. He still had high school to get through then after graduating from Renton High in 1940 he was off to the Army and World War II. Dad was sent to England, the Normandy Invasion, and later served under Patton in the Battle of the Bulge.
This is my family (circa 1936) with Grandpa George Fabre, left, Grandma Pauline, her mom, my Great Grandma Celine Boulanger Longville Delaurenti, Grandpa’s brother Jules and his sister (playing the accordion) Louise, my  Dad, Al, and his older brother, my Uncle Georgie...

Throwback Thursdays: The Clubhouse
With Dad’s Day coming right up this Sunday of course I’ve been thinking about him. I thought it would be fun to share this photo on Throwback Thursdays... It was taken back in 1959 not long after we moved to Earlington. I wish I had another picture that was a little more upfront and personal, but this one I am fond of and it conjures many memories.

fathers day: Happy Fathers Day, Dad... - 06/20/10 09:44 AM
My upbringing was a little unusual for a kid growing up in Renton, Washington in the 1950's and 60's. Renton was a 'blue collar' town then and most everyone in those days worked for Boeing or PacCar, the cities two largest employers. One made airplanes, the other railroad cars, military tanks, and Kenworth Trucks.
