  MARCH 2007 STATUS REPORT CORRIDOR CITIES TRANSITWAY COALITION   The Germantown Alliance recently hosted the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and the State Highway Administration (SHA) for a briefing on the status of the CCT and the I-270/US 15 Multi-Modal Corridor Study. The following is a status report based on that briefing.  
The CCT is one of four State transit projects that will compete for funding.  The projects are:

·        Purple Line - Montgomery County
·        Red Line - Baltimore City and County

But is everyone happy. No, of course not.  The school system, for example, while getting a heafty increase, fell $20 million short of its $137 million increase request.  But that doesn't mean some of the money & services for school children isn't in there. One needs to look in the entire budget to see that programs to serve our children are covered in other parts of the budget such as health and human services.  It is important to note that Leggett's plan proposes sending $14,370 per student in the county, among the highest in the region.
