The Luther East Eagle High School Choir of Lansing, Illinois performed Holiday songs at the Annual Calumet City Chamber's Christmas Party & Installation held December 8Th.
New President of the Chamber beginning the 2010 year is Yolanda Lott, who currently holds a position as Branch Manager of Bank Financial in Calumet City, Illinois.
Ms. Lott, who graciously accepted her appointment, acknowledged out-going president, Kay Cooper Boyda, and the efforts done by Chamber Directors and membership.
 Board members and Directors were sworn in to fulfil another year.

Christmas For Kids, an annual event hosted by the Calumet City Chamber of Commerce, joined with the Calumet City Resource Center at 202 155Th Place in Calumet City, Illinois, yesterday, December 6, 2009 to be on hand to bless a few needy families.
The Resource Center, is open 5 days a week to receive donations and distribute clothing, food, and helpful items given by the general public and other charities.

Today, Tuesday, November 10Th, 2009 is a day to be celebrated!  Exactly 4 weeks ago, on the 2ND Tuesday of October, a plane landed at Midway Airport carrying a special passenger from Orlando Florida!
The new arrival has been in the South Suburbs of Windy City Chicago for exactly for 1 Month today!  Today is also the day 40 something years ago this dude was born!!!

Doug Hamilton, Superintendent of School District 151, in South Suburban, Illinois was our guest speaker at the South Holland Business Association Luncheon, September 24th, 2009.
The topic:  "Schools,  An Untapped Market"  was presented by Mr. Hamilton with such simplicity, that businesses who who were in attendance must have all been thinking the same thing.... Lieutenant Chris Van Dyke of the Riverdale Fire Department attended the first Riverdale Landlord meeting of 2008 January 17th, and gave property owners startling facts!  At age 65, older adults are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires or falls compared to the population at large and their population is increasing rapidly!
In Illinois, a fall and fire prevention program which is geared specifically for older adults is available FREE!   The program, called, "Illinois Remembering When" which was developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), The Center for High-Risk Outreach, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), can be conducted through neighborhood groups and gatherings.  … (13 comments)

The Calumet City Chamber of Commerce is having it's Annual Auto Show, Sunday, September 9th, 2007.   Cars and motorcycles will be on display at the River Oaks Mall East in Calumet City, Illinois.  Applications of all makes and models will be accepted.

We were honored to have been selected to attend the First Annual Realtor's Tour and Breakfast presented by Calumet City and Mayor Michelle Qualkinbush.
The Rice Property Management Team with other guests were royally treated to catered breakfast by Villa de Bruno  held in the Council Chambers.  Jim Gigliotti, Calumet City's Community and Economic Development Director introduced various speakers who shared informative highlights for the gathered REALTORS®. 
Some of the attendees were; TF North High Principal, Dwayne Evans,  General Manager Dennis Gilliam, of The River Oaks Center , Janice Kutz, President of the Calumet City Chamber of Commerce, Harris Bank representatives, Calumet City Park District personnel, and others.

events: Riverdale GUS MACKER Success! - 07/14/07 09:24 AM

The City of Riverdale in Illinois hosted the GUS MACKER 3 on 3 BasketBall Tournament on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1, 2007.  It was a huge success with over 115 teams particating.
I was asked to work on the registering table, which i did, and WOW did i enjoy!  The players were from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and other States, and ranged in age from 9 to 49.  Males and females competed for the prizes.  An awesome time was had by all.  Riverdale will host the tournament again in 2008!

The Calumet City Council, headed by Mayor Michelle Qualkinbush along with the Calumet City Park District is hosting a series of summer concerts for it's citizens and guest visitors.
