beach: Kauai's Hanalei Bay Awarded Honor of #1 Beach

"Dr. Beach" has released his top 10 list for 2009 and Hanalei Bay is at the top as best beach. Hanalei Bay is in Hawaii on Kauai's North Shore. It's popular with residents and visitors alike and in addition to beach goers, attracts surfers, swimmers, and stand-up paddleboarders. It's framed by rugged mountains rising into the sky and lush vegetation. It's also home to "Puff", the magic dragon of Peter, Paul, and Mary fame and Puff can be seen sleeping in the background of this photo. this portion of the mountain range is what inspired them to write their famous song … (15 comments)
