Life in Hawaii is all about outdoor living and exploring via hiking trails is part of the fun. Those who have flown into Maui will have seen the row of wind power generators on the West Maui Mountains. There is an established trail, the Lahania Pali Trail that goes right through the middle of this wind farm with it's giant wind turbines.
The hike is a somewhat rugged one with a 1600 foot elevation change. Round trip is 10 miles but if you leave a car at each end of the trailheads, it's only 5 miles.
