home america mortgage: From Vanilla To Double Chocolate Raspberry Truffle...Or Hello Retirement! - 04/02/08 11:18 AM
Never had a beard before!
Last fall my father and stepmother decided that as part of their retired life they wanted to relocate...to Hawaii! Now this was not some decision made in haste. He had already been retired for almost two years and had spent the middle of January until the beginning of April in Hawaii for those previous two years. They had fallen in love with the islands and announced to my siblings and I after returning from their second trip that they were selling their house (and most of their belongings) and moving to Hawaii! By August of 2007, their … (15 comments)

home america mortgage: Meet The Robinsons - Movie Review! - 04/02/08 09:20 AM
I watched this movie over the weekend and enjoyed it. This is a movie for the whole family! Disney does a great job with the storyline, though I would have preferred if one of the children had taken more responsibility for his actions. There does seem to be a bit of shunning of personal responsibility by one of the characters in this film and I don't know if that is necessarily a good message to send. The film does not glorify this shirker of responsibility but makes him the villain so that is a bit of redemption. The movie is very … (8 comments)

home america mortgage: Recipes! Cooking Articles! Coupons! - 04/01/08 10:39 AM
With the way we work (constantly) in the real estate industry we don't always take the time to think about what we are putting into our bodies (i.e. fast food, take out, that mystery stuff in the Tupperware). I for one really enjoy cooking! I am a vegetarian, so most importantly I like to know there is no meat nor meat product in what I am eating and when I cook I am assured of this. I like using vegetables that I know are fresh and well washed (to remove any residual pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides). Combine these with the cost … (31 comments)

home america mortgage: Atlanta's 2008 Walk For Autism Saturday, April 12, 2008 - 03/30/08 07:00 AM

It seems that their are charity walks for everything nowadays. This is not to diminish the impact of thousands of people walking en masse through normally busy city streets. I remember as a child participating in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Walk A Thon. The excitement of getting pledges from neighbors and your parents' friends really helped to lend to my enthusiasm for the event. Today cities and towns across the US, and worldwide, experience these charity events with regularity. Atlanta on Saturday, April 12, 2008 will be the site of the Walk For Autism sponsored by Autism Speaks and … (10 comments)

home america mortgage: The Spiderwick Chronicles - A Real Fantasy Winner! - 03/02/08 12:52 PM
Today I had the pleasure of seeing this movie! Now keep in mind that this picture is rated PG and with good reason. There is some rather frightening creatures and events, including swordfighting, that may be too intense for children under say 8 years old. Now with the warning out of the way, this is an awesome movie! It transports me back to my childhood and the fantastical realms inhabited by ogres, trolls, faieries, a scary David Bowie (replaced in this movie by Nick Nolte), and great adventure! This is for the kid in all of us, and to be shared … (22 comments)
