The Ottawa Real Estate Board has just released the stats for January 2020. What are you seeing in your area? Are you seeing homes selling quickly or are they sitting on the market for a while? As you can see in this video the number of homes sold in Ottawa is a bit less than expected. We think that because of the low inventory, it's normal to see fewer transactions. How's the Market in Ottawa? This is one of the questions we get all the time. The Ottawa Real Estate market has been very strong throughout all of 2019. We are still seeing multiple offers and not enough listings. The prices in Ottawa keep increasing and the number of transactions is also increasing despite the fact that we don't have enough listings at the moment.

The Ottawa Real Estate market is still pretty active, considering we are now in November. During the month of October 2018, there were 1,383 residential properties sold in Ottawa. In October 2017, there were 1,237 transactions, which means an increase of 11.8% over last year. The breakdown of Residential to Condo is 1,223 vs 324 for condos. What are you seeing in your neighborhood? The average price of a residential home in Ottawa is $449,005 and the average condo price is $271,350. How's the Real Estate market in your area? The Ottawa Real estate market for January 2018 was pretty strong. We are seeing some multiple offers and lots of showings on the hot new listings.
I was showing houses to clients last week and within 24 hours of showing 2 hot new listings, there were multiple offers and it was too late! I also sold a new listing within 7 days with 20 showings, 7 offers and it sold for over asking, a lot over asking. If you are like many people, you are curious to see what the Ottawa Real Estate market is doing. The good news is that we still have a strong market, even for November. My opinion is that the lack of snow and very cold temperature is keeping the buyers looking at homes.

The Ottawa Real Estate Board has just released the lastest stats for September 2016. It looks like we had a pretty busy month in September. Over 1,300 units sold last month, which is an increase of approximately 10.5% over last year. A pretty good increase, in my opinion. Of those units we had 1102 residential homes and 269 condos sold! The average price in Ottawa for residential homes is $383,793 and the average condo sale price is $252,136.
