a new day: A New Day - To be all that God created YOU to be - 03/16/14 01:18 AM

You will not become everything God has created you to be with all the approval of those around you.
Shake off the negative voices and don’t pay attention to the naysayers that are trying to discredit you.
Stayed focused on being a person of excellence not being a person that needs the approval of others.
Trying to keep everyone pleased and happy is very draining; stay focused on your goals and let God take care of the rest.
Don’t waste your time trying to win the approval of someone who is never going to give you their … (3 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Where will your thoughts take you - 03/13/14 09:45 PM

Where will your thoughts take you today

How many pleasant memories do you recall every day? Chances are like most people  you don't recall all the good things that happen and you focus on all the negative and bad things that happen.

Ask yourself these four questions about focusing on the negative:
1.Do they serve you any purpose?
2.Do they help you move forward?
3.Do they work in your favor in any way?
4.Do they make you feel good?

When you begin focusing on more positive things and focus on what you … (10 comments)

a new day: A New Day - To Love Your Body - 03/08/14 12:58 AM
I recently purchased (thanks to my Active Rain friend Geri Sonkin) the Oprah & Deepak 21-Day Perfect Health Meditation Challenge.  I am on day 17 and I am loving it. I believe I have read all of Deepak's books and have always learned something of value from each and every one of them.
Today I wanted to share this wonderful series of meditations with everyone and I came across a site that will let you register on-line for free for the 21-Day Meditation. I wish I had found this before spending $59.00 for the audio version but I must say it was worth … (21 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Are you floating on the River of Life - 03/02/14 05:19 AM

Making a true decision means committing to achieving a result, and then cutting yourself off from any other possibility. It is in our moments of decision that our destinies are shaped.
I believe that life is like a river, and that most people on the River of Life have never decided where they want to go. So they just go with the flow. One day they wake up and discover that where they are on the River of Life is not where they want to be and they start to make excuses for their position when the only reason … (19 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Kick The Approval Addiction - 02/25/14 08:34 PM

We all like to feel approval from others. However, when our desire for approval becomes too strong, we are in trouble.
Everyone likes to feel accepted and approved of. But for some of us, especially folks who didn't get much as children, the desire for approval becomes a need, even an addiction. When that happens, we are in big trouble. To meet our own desperate need, we behave in ways that may have nothing at all to do with how we really think and feel. We are almost never happy, because we are trying to use those around us to get … (6 comments)

Happy New Day !!!
I believe that each New Day is a gift from God a gift worth celebrating!  If at any time during this beautiful New Day you're not feeling as good as you would like to be feeling and you would like to change the way you feel, or if you're feeling good but you really want to feel very very very good.... then take a few minutes and and try doing this.
Make a mental list of everything you love and adore. Include the places you love, the people you love, the colors you love, the styles … (13 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Carry A Big Cup - 02/14/14 11:12 PM

"The universe will fill your cup - if you carry a big cup, a little cup or a thimble."
Spiritual Teacher, Sonia Choquette
In many ways we've been raised to believe only what we see. If you can't see it - it's not real - that's what we're taught. The truth is that “When we believe it we will see it” and not before.  Thus believing is vital to our survival and success. If we could only believe that everything would work out and trust that what we want can and will happen - our lives would change in ways we … (12 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Try Using Your Breaks - 02/14/14 10:43 PM

It's important to realize that there is one and only one thing in life that is completely within our power to control and that is our thoughts. We may not be able to control what happens to us but we are always able to control our response to what happens to us. When we find ourselves overcome with feelings of fear, helplessness, doom and gloom, we can always put the brakes on these feelings by gently but firmly choosing to shift the focus of the negative thoughts that are running through our minds to positive thoughts.
Our feelings are a direct … (11 comments)

a new day: A New Day - The buck stops here - 01/02/14 09:25 PM

The above sign sat on President Truman's desk.
The buck stops here.
The "buck stops here" derives from the slang expression "pass the buck" which means passing the responsibility on to someone else.  Many of us ruin our lives by passing the buck... or blaming others for our lives... The truth about our lives is that the buck stops with us...
We need to accept responsibility for our own problems and stop passing that buck to others!
We need to stop blaming our parents, our spouses, our bosses, or others for our present situation. Neither our education nor lack … (10 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Have No Regrets - 12/18/13 07:12 PM
Make this New Day a day in which you will have “No Regrets”

Live with intention. Refrain from giving advice or expressing an opinion unless specifically asked to do so... Play with abandon... Laugh a lot ... Learn something new.... Appreciate your friends and those that bring love and beauty into your life.... Do what you love... Let no one steal your joy... Let no one put weeds in your garden... Take time to look with wonder at all that surrounds you... Lend a helping hand to someone in need...
Follow your heart, because if you always trust … (12 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Be Glad - 12/17/13 06:44 AM

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."  Psalm 118:24

Remember, if you are criticizing, you are not being grateful. If you are blaming, you are not being grateful. If you are complaining, you are not being grateful. If you are feeling tension, you are not being grateful. If you are rushing, you are not being grateful. If you are in a bad mood, you are not being grateful.
Gratitude can transform your life. Are you allowing minor things to get in the way of your transformation and … (6 comments)

a new day: Happy Thanksgiving - 11/27/13 07:19 PM

"We tend to take all the gifts and pleasures and happiness and the joy without saying much to God. We take our health and strength, our food and clothing and our loved ones, all for granted; but the moment anything goes wrong we start grumbling and complaining and we say 'Why should God do this to me, why should this happen to me?'
How slow we are to thank and swift to grumble."
[Martyn Lloyd-Jones]

Thanksgiving – a day to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.  Today I thank our Heavenly Father for a New … (9 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Thank God for Mrs. Friedman What Our Country Needs More Of - 11/19/13 07:19 PM
A New Day - Thank God For Mrs. Friedman What Our Country Needs More Of
I woke up this morning (thank God) wondering what I would post about and the first thing that came to my mind was Mrs. Friedman. Yesterday as we have done so many times the past 20 years we thanked God for a bringing Mrs. Friedman into our lives.
Mrs Friedman (a widow) was one of our first tenants. She had lost her only child to a drug overdose and was taking on the responsibility of caring for her little granddaughter. At first we were reluctant to … (0 comments)

a new day: A New Day - If you can believe all things are possible - 11/18/13 07:12 PM

"If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."  Mark 9:23
Today notice how often you criticize, condemn or complain - even if you only do it in your head and don't verbalize it. We are all our own worse enemies. For it is our own thoughts and our own beliefs that cause us the greatest harm.
"If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right." - Henry Ford
These days more and more doctors, psychologist, researchers and many others are beginning to realize that what we achieve and … (3 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Dish The Poor Mouth - 11/17/13 06:31 AM

“Don’t dwell on your problems. If you have a poor mouth, you will have a poor life.” Joel Osteen
I hope everyone had a great weekend filled with fun and relaxation. This week would be a great week to start taking the bull by the horns. Are there things in your life that you have consistently put off? Are there things in your business that you know you should do, but you keep telling yourself you can do that later? Well, this week is it. Let us get some of those things done and off the list. You … (5 comments)

a new day: A New Day - Be Thankful Challenge 11/10 - 11/09/13 11:28 PM
Shortly after I got pregnant with my third son I had a serious injury to my right hand. In fact I cut the median nerve. Surgery was required to save the hand but in order to perform the surgery I had to have an operation. I refused to do so!!! My entire family was against my decision. My Father, a Doctor and a devout Christian also encouraged me to listen to the Doctors that were telling me that if I didn't let them operate I would lose the use of my hand.  In spite of all their advice I refused to have … (2 comments)

a new day: A New Day For Positive Self Talk - 11/01/13 05:48 AM

Pay attention to the kinds of things you say to yourself. Your self-talk affects virtually everything in your life.
If you tell yourself good things don't happen to you, believe me, they won't, because your subconscious will make sure that you find a way to prove yourself right. If you have a positive expectation of success, chances are excellent that you will succeed. You will persist in your efforts and you will persuade others to help you until you achieve your goal.
So, pay close attention to the kinds of things you say to yourself. And, if you … (2 comments)

a new day: A New Day To Make A Better You - 11/01/13 04:51 AM

A New Day To Make A Better You
Have you ever felt so at one with the world, with the universe, with everything that is, that you were overcome with love? That is reality. That is the truth. What we make of it is up to us, as the painting of the sunrise is up to the artist. ~ Richard Bach

Every time you reach out to help someone in need or show kindness to another, with no thought of personal gain, you improve the quality of society in general. Every time you grow as a person, as … (4 comments)

a new day: A New Day - You Can Do All Things - 10/29/13 09:36 AM

"If you hear a voice within you say, 'you can't paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." Vincent Van Gogh
Today think of something you’ve believed you can’t do and take one step toward accomplishing it.
The biggest lie we tell ourselves  is, “I can’t.”  That is simply not true.  We can do anything we want.  If we don’t do something, it is because we have committed our time, energy and resources somewhere else.  The next time you hear yourself saying, to another --- and especially to yourself --- “I can’t,” take a … (6 comments)
