Four Birmingham-Hoover high schools have made the Washington Post's list of "America's most challenging high schools this year. The Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School was ranked 19th in the nation. Other Alabama schools on this year's list are Mountain Brook (No. 435), Homewood (No. 700), and Spain Park in Hoover (No. 1,366). Have you ever driven down Mountain Brook Parkway and wondered what it would be like to live in The Old Mill? The Old Mill House designed by landscape architect William H. Kessler is a 1926 replica of Perryman's Mill built by the Jemison Companies. It originally operated as a tea room, but the tea room closed during the Great Depression.
