corpus christi homes for sale: 'Buying Your First Home' getting harder - 06/17/21 04:48 PM
Buying Your First Home is getting harder every day.  The price of homes is steadily increasing as inflation sets in.  Lumber prices are out of sight right now.  Labor costs are spiraling.  There is a shortage of materials, a shortage of workers, and most definitely a shortage of homes.
Realtors have known for decades there was a shortage of median priced homes, and first time home buyers have a real challenge.  Home builders that were forced out the business during the great recession have not come back, making new construction more scarce than it was before.  Many independent builders only build expensive … (4 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Buying Your First Home - 12/11/20 07:24 AM
Buying Your First Home is a major decision and many people are making that decision this year.  Approximately 40% of all home sales come from first-time home buyers.  Home sales have been record breaking in 2020 with many people moving from larger cities to smaller towns or suburbs and even into the country.
My new book, Buying Your First Home: A Step-by-Step Guide from Dreams to Reality is designed for people who know nothing about real estate or for those who wish to know more.  I hope many will turn their dreams of home ownership into reality and take the steps to … (21 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Think and Create, a new book - 10/24/20 09:40 AM
The October challenge, To Think is to Create was right on for me.
When the coronavirus pandemic hit, my husband and I went into survival mode.  We immediately social distanced by canceling all our get-togethers, personal and business.  We stocked up on masks, gloves, cleaning supplies and of course, food and medicine.
We decided not to wait around until everything was in short supply.  We went shopping together with separate shopping lists and tried to get everything on our lists.  We came home wiped everything down with bleach wipes before putting it away.  We even waited 3 days to open our mail, keeping … (11 comments)

Price Reduction!  This is to announce a price reduction for my new book

"Finally A  Broker!"

I wrote my first book this year and decided I wanted to write to real estate professionals and entrepreneurs.

Most agents dream about becoming a broker and running their own offices.  So, what better topic is there for dedicated, professional, ambitious agents.  I have loved being in real estate but my favorite thing has been training agents.  I love to see people attain their dreams and grow in their chosen profession.  To have a little part in their success is such a reward.

I shared my excitement when I … (12 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Springtime brings Life! - 05/02/19 05:47 PM
It's a Rainy Thursday afternoon!  Spring is here and the rain is making all the grass and flowers grow.  It's quiet and I am watching the black squirrels chase one another up and down the tall pine trees.  Some of the limbs are so small, the weight of the squirrel makes them bend in half.  With a quick bounce and a jump, the little squirrel makes it to another tree.  One squirrel chasing the other for hours on end.  They are having lots of fun and so am I, watching from the window.
The rain stops for a while and returns with … (16 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Kudos to Ricki Eichler McCallum - ActiveRain - 04/15/19 02:39 PM
How could I not re-blog such an excellent blog from Patricia Feager.   She enjoyed my book and told me she thought there were many good points brought to her attention that anyone starting a business could use.  I appreciate her blog post helping me to get the word out about my book.  If you know of anyone that might be interested, please share it with them.
Like I told her, when I first started in real estate, most brokers did not like to share information with their agents.   It took a long time to learn the business because of this.
Then, many … (12 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Use your VA Loan Eligibility - 04/09/19 12:15 PM
Realtors ® are good at telling you to buy now!  Today, is always a good time to buy a home.
I believe it is always a good time.  However, in my 40 year career in real estate, I have seen good times come and go.  The economy and the market is constantly changing.
There are times when the economy is roaring and NOW is one of those times!  Don't miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.  Prices are going up because the economy is doing well.  More and more millenials are finally saying "Let's buy a house!"
Now is a great time because interest … (2 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Finally A Broker! - 03/26/19 09:52 AM
Finally A Broker!  is my new book.  I told many of you about it last week.  I want to thank everyone for the kind words of encouragement you shared.  Writing a book is a very hard thing to do.  It takes a long time to do it and I had to write and rewrite and proof and re-proof many times.  Getting the words in the right order is a challenge.
The hardest thing however, is putting yourself out there.  I worried about what people would think about what I wrote.  Being my first book, it is a very scary thing.
The other hardest  … (8 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: The Next Chapter - 03/18/19 11:22 AM
HELLO Friends and especially Patricia Feager,
I have retired from selling real estate on commission.  I am saying it this way because I will be keeping my broker's license always and maybe doing some investment real estate and remodeling projects in the future.  I love real estate and have enjoyed my offices and working with clients and agents throughout my 40 years of being in the business.
It is time for me to do something else and one of my goals has always been to write.
I have moved from my beloved Texas to Northern Michigan.  I love fishing, as all my friends … (13 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Waiting is the Hardest Thing to Do - 02/15/19 10:25 AM
Wait, wait, wait!
I don't want to hear that word!  Neither do you!  It's one of those dreaded words that we all run away from.  If there is anything we can do to make it happen now, we will.
We live in a society that has taught us not to be patient.
  We must have it now!
Are you relating to what I am saying?
Our young couples want to start out in a home like the ones their parents are living in.  Their parents scrimped and saved and worked for decades to attain what they have.  Young people often think they should have as … (6 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: I'm the Best! - 12/30/18 02:49 PM
Yes, we all want to be the best!
This is universal in whatever we do.  We want our children to be the best in school, in sports, in everything they want to do.  We want to be the best at work, at home, at our hobbies, in everything we do.  Our country thrives on competition and a few years back, some people thought it would be good to allow all participants to receive awards.  Of course, that took away from trying to be your best if everyone got an award.
Let's talk about apples and oranges.  Both are tasty, both have bright, beautiful colors, … (23 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Goodbye, Hello! - 12/29/18 12:36 PM
Happy New Year!!!

2019 is anticipated and many look forward to better times.  Many also enter the new year with skepticism and disappointments that loom on the horizon or are envisioned.  Let's not be anxious for things that have not happened yet.

Let's look forward to more joy, more happiness, more success.  Life is always changing and let's learn that is a good thing.  Let's make good decisions for our lives and for our families.  Let's not be stuck in the past.

corpus christi homes for sale: Christmas Cakes and Shipping Costs - 12/14/18 10:18 AM
 It's Christmas time!
Presents and gifts and what to buy for friends and relatives near and far.
For those not living close by, there are lots of catalogs and online sites offering all kinds of goodies.  One of my favorite things to send is Christmas Cakes.  Yes, you hear lots of complaining about the standard fruitcakes.  But in Texas, there is a wonderful bakery,
(Collin Street Bakery) that makes fruitcakes that are delicious and everyone will want a piece.  Deluxe Fruitcakes from Waxahachie, Texas are something everyone would like.
They also have pineapple pecan, apricot pecan, chocolate pecan treats.  Pecans from Texas are the … (2 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Time to Invest in Real Estate? - 11/14/18 02:19 PM
Is this a good time to invest in real estate?
I've always thought real estate was a good investment.  It is not a liquid asset like other investments but has a lower risk usually.  That's why I like it.  I like making money but having a low risk of loss.
I've been investing in the stock market recently and the volatility can sometimes make you crazy! :)  Anyone else feel like this?  I am sure there are many of you that feel the same way.
A few years ago we took a big downturn on real estate and it was something we could not … (2 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: Autumn Leaves Are Falling - 10/13/18 07:35 PM
This year is coming to a close and we are being reminded of that fact by the beautiful Autumn Leaves.  They are everywhere you look.  Two weeks ago, it was hard to find the colored trees but today they line every roadside.

Beautiful colors of red, gold, orange, brown and green.

The blue sky with a few fluffy white clouds adds to the color and it makes me want to smile.  Why do Autumn colors make a person so happy?  They do me.

I love to pick up falling leaves and see how many different colors I can find.  Different trees and different colors … (6 comments)

corpus christi homes for sale: It's raining birds! - 09/03/18 03:25 PM
It's been cloudy all day long.  It rained a lot last night.  We have had storms in various places and light rain at times, then heavy downpours.  All in all, we've been blessed with about 2 inches of rain.  The forecast calls for more rain for several more days.
I am happy about the rain because we have been in a small drought.  I am glad the land is getting watered and I'm sure all the wildlife and the vegetation likes it too.
While sitting at my computer, I began to hear a noise that sounded like water dripping.  I looked all  around, … (16 comments)
