Sunday morning, earlier than normal get up time, about 5000 people started the Marathon of the Palm Beaches. The least we could do is be there to hand them their water, Gatoraid and Gu, and make their time a little more interesting and fun.
And we did. Nina and Bill Washawanny had this project to be of service in both Las Vegas and West Palm Beach and bring awareness to raising money for the cure for cancer. On January 19th, 2008, my sister, our grandparents and I went down to Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach to Race for the Cure. This is a fundraiser for the research of a cure for Breast Cancer. The Komen South Florida Affiliate was established in 1991, and since then has raised over two and a half million dollars annually. They host a day of jogging, walking, and more for all ages; Co Ed, Kids, tots, men, and woman.
