Rising gas prices have spurred some home buyers to look for homes that may offer shorter commute times to work. A survey done between April 28 and May 3 showed 75% of respondents saying the recent jump in gas prices has influenced where they may live. 89% said buyers are looking for homes closer to work and 93% said a continued rise in prices could prompt more home buyers to live where commute times are shorter.
Clintonville home buyers may be making choices to homes nearer the bus lines if they communte to downtown or Ohio State University.

osu area: Foreclosures and evictions on holiday hold

Mortgage-finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are suspending foreclosures and evictions for two weeks in a temporary break for borrowers during the holiday season. The suspension runs from Saturday, December 19th, through January 3rd.
Citigroup Inc. announced a 30-day suspension of foreclosures and evictions, affecting about 4,000 borrowers.
Fannie and Freddie did not estimate how many homeowners would get their grace periods.
Last winter, most major lenders suspended foreclosures while the Obama administration developed its $75 billion loan-modification program. But foreclosures picked up again after those suspensions lifted.
