It's hard to read the headlines and not be confused.
Last week, the National Association of Realtors announced that existing-home sales in July had fallen an astounding 25.5 percent from the previous year. Then, just a few days later, some communities like Scarsdale and Edgemont were reporting that sales and prices had actually increased. A few days after that, Yahoo reported that sales prices nationwide had actually increased.

There’s been a lot of talk about signage lately. There are towns in my County that don’t let Brokerages put up any For Sale signs. There are some towns where you cannot state the name of the Brokerage; instead it needs to say FOR SALE BY BROKER. And, there are some towns that regulate how large the sign can be- in one instance, there is a town that will allow the sign to be 1 sq.ft., so many Brokerages end up with a sign that is 12 inches by 12 inches. The Obama administration announced changes to the Home Affordable Modification Program, which is targeted at helping those who are unemployed and "underwater" on their homes, two groups who need the help the most, and haven't been getting help...until now.
HAMP loan servicers will be required to provide 3 to 6 months of forbearance to eligible homeowners who lose their jobs, reducing their mortgage payments to a level that doesn't exceed 31 percent of their monthly income.

Every day, the news media reports some sort of bleak commentary regarding the economy, government, healthcare, etc. Sometimes it's a wonder that any of us is able to continue going on with our lives.
Another month has passed with an outrageous number of job losses, you almost you wonder how anyone has a job anymore. Even one job loss at this point is too much compared to the already millions of people who do not have any employment.
