The team from the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District won the Lee County Chili Challenge held April 13.
Several main ingredients of the winning chili recipe were sponsored by the butcher shop at Bailey’s General Store.
The event raised more than $3,000 benefiting local causes including Honor Flight, South Trail Fire District Firefighter Charlie Russo and Injured Warriors Fund.
