Tucked in there was a insert magazine titled "There Was A Time, Historian Tom Orr shares observations of Henderson County's rich heritage." Merry Christmas from Hendersonville NC. The temperature is correct but don't pay attention to the clock -- it's broke and 8 A.M. is correct. It hasn't snowed on Christmas in Hendersonville for 29 years but it sure is today! I'm sure kids have been jumping for joy since waking up.
When I went to bed last night this snow wasn't predicted to start until Christmas afternoon and 1-3 inches was predicted.
This worked for me as I had made reservations for myself and a friend for the Christmas Buffet at the Esmeralda Inn in Bat Cave at 11 A.M. By 9:30 A.M. it became … (9 comments)

Surprise in Hendersonville NC -- Some White Stuff. When I went to bed last night the weather report said we'd be getting rain turning over into rain/possible snow showers. Well, this is what we woke to in Hendersonville at 7 AM. 2-3 inches of the white stuff. A little bit of winter wonderland. According to the news Brevard had up to 5 inches. The temperatures didn't rise a couple of degrees as expected so the rain was snow.By noon it was 35 degrees and a lot of melting had taken place. The Carl Sandburg Home was proud to host a very special ceremony for Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. Friday, September 17 2010 was a first time event for Western NC and the Carl Sandburg Home.
This ceremony was one of more than 20 such ceremonies being conducted throughout the country in national parks.
