Hi Everybody, I first heard about this through another agent at a real estate forum and I thought it was great. As a real estate agent in Rockland County NY I've seen my fair share of homeowners and renters who end up with lots of unwanted items that they need to get rid of fast. Of course you could always throw it out but why not give it away and keep it out of our landfills. According to the Rockland County MLS there were a total of 1454 residential single family houses and condos sold in Rockland County from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Considering how the sales market has been nationally I would say that Rockland County is definitely ahead of the game. I thought it would be interesting to know how they were paid for so in the following chart I have separated the total numbers sold by the type of financing that was used to purchase these homes. These numbers are very different to the ones I gave last month, in fact some of the numbers are pretty outrageous but remember all home sales are factored in to come up with the final average price.
