Decades ago, in Northern San Diego County, there was a kid who saw that with all the people that owned horses in the area, he could earn some extra cash cleaning horse stalls in the afternoon after school. Well, he got clients fast. Then he had too much business. So, he got a few other kids who were his friends to join him. Soon, they got to the point where each of them had all the business that they could handle.
That’s when the next idea came up. Why simply throw the manure away? So, he went out and sold the manure (18 comments)

How quickly can you fail? How badly can you fail? Why would that be something you want to keep track of? Perhaps because you may not understand the better purpose of failure. One man did know about how to use failure to his benefit. Johnny Carson has, by far, been the most successful late night talk show ever. What you may not know is how he started every day. He would sit with some coffee, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, a pad of paper and a pen. He would read each of the papers and as (30 comments)

I was working in an office that was still fairly small (we were less than 3 years from quadrupling our size). I had a couple farms, one of which was merely for pride. It was a condominium complex right across the street from the office. Unfortunately, it was wrapped up in litigation and so 30% of the owners rented their condos out and thus at the time, those condos could not be financed VA or FHA which was about 99% of the marketplace for the area and price range. I would mail something to all the owners, but only once or twice (26 comments)
