US Forever Stamp - www.usps.com US stamp prices are on the rise for the fourth consecutive year. On January 27, 2014, the price of a first class US stamp will rise from $0.46 to $0.49. This $0.03 increase is the largest single increase by the US Postal Service since 1991. The 2012 & 2013 increases were only $0.01 each year. With the exception of 2010, US postage rates have risen annually since 2006. A 3oz first class package will remain at a cost of $1.95. On May 12, 2010, O.C.G.A. Section 7-1-1011(2)(b) was amended to increase from $6.50 to $10.00. this is a per loan fee that must be remitted to the Department for each residential mortgage loan that closes for which a security deed, a modification of a security deed or other form of modification of a security interest is recorded. The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance announced on April 16, 2010, that there will be an increase in the $6.50 per loan fee. The announcement states: "The Department would like to bring to your attention that there will likely soon be an increase in the $6.50 per loan fees, required by O.C.G.A. Section 7-1-1011(b)(2), from $6.50 to $10.00. This increase is included in HB1055 which imposes an increased per residential mortgage loan fee of $10.00 and which will become effective upon the Governor's signature.
