A chimney fire destroyed a local Lafayette IN home in the early hours this morning. Fortunately, everyone made it out safely! Firefighters said that the cause was easily preventable. Some suggestions as we move into cooler temperatures and the desire and likelihood of you using your fireplace is increased....
1 - have your chimney checked annually and cleaned! 2 - make sure your chimney and fireplace are safe prior to use 3 - check your fire alarms - test them to make sure they all work 4 - make sure your exits are not blocked 5 - add safety ladders … (0 comments)
