After experiencing tropical storm "Fay" and then "Hanna", the Ponte Vedra Beach, Vilano Beach, and St. Augustine area experienced a lot of rain... and a little bit of damage to oceanfront and oceanside houses. One area in Vilano Beach has experienced erosion problems, but most oceanfront homeowners have noticed that sand has been coming back to their oceanfront homes. One sad note is that many turtle nests were destroyed by the summer storms. Many people feel that the gulf stream, being located a good 65-70 miles off shore, has acted as a steering current to help keep big storms off this … (0 comments)
